Seongsu burger spot for terrace beer and ranch chips: Bas Burger
In short
Bas Burger Seongsu is a handmade burger restaurant with a terrace in Seongsu, Seoul, between Seoulsup Station and Ttukseom Station. On a holiday visit with a friend, the writer ordered the Bas Burger, a Double Bacon Cheese Burger, the new Chili Mozza Cheese Bar and draft beer, and refilled the unlimited chips two or three times to dip in ranch and pollack roe mayo sauces. Bas Burger Seongsu is a great Seongsu burger spot for burgers and beer on the terrace when the weather is nice.

Where is Bas Burger Seongsu?
Bas Burger Seongsu is a handmade burger place halfway between Seoulsup Station and Ttukseom Station. I already love it and go often, but this time I used a holiday to make a little trip to Seongsu. If you're into handmade burgers, you can take them to go before heading into Seoulsup, or sit on the terrace like I did.
Seoulsup is right nearby, so lots of people deliberately get takeout and eat in the park. I wanted to do that too, but a handmade burger is best eaten right away, so I couldn't hold out and finished it on the spot in no time! haha

A Seongsu spot for burgers and beer on the terrace
Bas Burger Seongsu is a great handmade burger spot where you can eat a burger in Seongsu like a New Yorker. There are branches all over Seoul, but I stopped by the Seongsu one again after a while, and since it had been a while, I ordered the new Chili Mozza Cheese Bar and a draft beer and really enjoyed my holiday :)
You know it's hard to find a bar with a terrace in Seongsu, right? If you want a tasty burger and a beer with that terrace feel, gather at Bas Burger Seongsu.

Bas Burger's unlimited chips: why you should eat in
The reason to eat at Bas Burger in the restaurant is the unlimited chips. They say the chips are fried fresh every day in fresh oil, and you can refill them as much as you like as a free service.
It was already the weekend, so the place was full of customers, and delivery orders kept coming in, so the kitchen was super busy. And the reason I have to eat Bas Burger in the restaurant? That's right! The chips! These little guys, T_T haha. They're on a totally different level from store-bought chips, a service item only Bas Burger has, and you can refill freely, so with a draft beer before the burger they're a perfect match! Of course I refilled 2-3 times!

Bas Burger and Double Bacon Cheese Burger: how did two people order?
That day we ordered the basic Bas Burger and the Double Bacon Cheese Burger. We made one of them a set, and the set's Coke Zero comes with one free refill, so if two of you go, you can happily share, right?
Seongsu is overflowing with good restaurants and has lots of handmade burger places, but Bas Burger already has branches all over Seoul, so it's a proven favorite and I ordered without hesitation.

Why the Bas Burger bun is especially good
Ta-da! The patty at Bas Burger is tasty, but I especially like the bun, which is something else. There's not a hint of dryness, it blends well with the ingredients, and it's a soft bread with just the right flavor that's great to take a big mouthful of, which makes this handmade burger even more appealing.

How spicy is the new Chili Mozza Cheese Bar?
The new Chili Mozza Cheese Bar we ordered alongside is a heat level that might be tough if you can't handle spice. Oh my, your mouth fills with cheesy flavor, it's spicy and rich, and with all that stretchy cheese pulling away, I could power through the spice and enjoy it. haha

A draft beer on the Bas Burger terrace at the weekend
At Bas Burger Seongsu, a top weekend terrace spot, beer isn't optional, it's a must! You know what I mean, right? I used to come to Seongsu only for pop-up events, but coming on a relaxed weekend food tour felt like a different kind of leisure, and I got drunk on the beer and the atmosphere. The Bas Burger terrace seats were so relaxing, and with the great weather too, I felt fantastic.

For sauce lovers: add the ranch and pollack roe mayo
At Bas Burger you can get extra sauce, so for a hardcore sauce person like me it's sauce heaven. I got extra ranch and pollack roe mayo (myeongran mayo) sauces to dip the chips in, and you can't even imagine how good that is, seriously T_T You have to try it.

Bas Burger on a Seongsu outing with a friend
I did not eat two burgers by myself T_T hahaha. I'm saying it upfront in case you get the wrong idea: I made plans with a friend in Seongsu after a long time, and sharing tasty handmade burgers let me take a little break from tough life. If you just stay cooped up at home feeling stuffy, it feels like nothing works out, so if you couldn't get out this weekend, why not take a Seongsu outing next weekend, eat a tasty handmade burger and have a cold draft beer?

Next time I go on a Seongsu outing, I'll find a proper Seongsu restaurant and introduce it to you. Everyone, have a hearty, happy day, like a Double Bacon Burger!
