Seoulsup burger pub: kids' lunch before a musical at Bas Burger
In short
Bas Burger Seongsu is a handmade burger and craft beer pub near Ttukseom Station Exit 7 in Seongdong, Seoul, on the lane leading to Seoulsup. Before the Alsatang musical at Seoulsup, the writer and their kids had lunch at Bas Burger Seongsu: two teriyaki-mayo kids' burger sets, a Bas Burger set, a Hawaiian Burger set and a Chili Mozzarella Cheese Bar. The kids liked the unlimited self-bar chips most. Bas Burger Seongsu is a good handmade burger stop for a Seoulsup day out with children.

Last week I took the kids to see the candy musical at Seoulsup :) We wanted lunch before the show, so I asked the kids what they felt like eating, and they said hamburgers. So we went to Bas Burger Seongsu, a Seoulsup spot I had bookmarked :)

We didn't have a reservation, but there was no wait and we got in right away. I had been curious about Bas Burger Seongsu because of its unlimited potato chips, and in the end the chips were exactly what the kids liked best, haha.

It's close to Ttukseom Station Exit 7, so it was easy to find. It sits on a lane between Ttukseom Station and Seoulsup Station, so it would also work before or after a walk in Seoulsup. There are outdoor terrace seats out front, and the sign said pets are only allowed on the outside terrace.

There's no parking lot of its own. If you're driving, you'll need to use a nearby public car park. And since there's a break from 14:50 to 16:30 on weekdays, check the time first if you're having a late lunch.
Bas Burger Seongsu atmosphere and self-serve bar
Bas Burger Seongsu has a pub feel, with handmade burgers and craft beer, and at the self-bar you can help yourself to chips and sauces.

With wood-colored walls, a glowing neon B logo, black tables and deep red seats, it has quite a mood for a burger place.

While waiting for our food at the table, we tried the self-bar first.

At the self-bar you can take as many chips and sauces as you like. Trays, napkins, and salt and pepper were right next to it. Special sauces like cod roe mayo are unlimited too if you ask the staff. The variety of sauces is part of Bas Burger's charm: shishito pepper red mayo, truffle mayo, Bas House, mustard and ranch. Next to the kiosk there was also a notice saying you can ask staff to sample a beer you like.
Bas Burger Seongsu menu, reservations, takeout and delivery

※ Based on the in-store menu (Naver Place). Bas Burger Seongsu takes reservations and offers takeout and delivery, and group seating is listed for up to 20 people. There seemed to be a lot of delivery orders, too.
What did we eat with the kids at Bas Burger Seongsu?

For the kids we ordered two Teri-mayo kids' burger sets; for the adults, a Bas Burger set and a Hawaiian Burger set, plus one extra Chili Mozzarella Cheese Bar.
Unlimited chips at the self-serve bar

We ate the self-bar chips before the food arrived. The kids really loved them and went back for more several times. They're different from the French fries that come with the set, so they make a perfect snack before the burgers come out.
Bas Burger

I chose the Bas Burger because it's known for a juicy patty and soft bun, and one bite was properly savory and delicious. I could see why it has that reputation :)
Hawaiian Burger

The Hawaiian Burger is said to be popular for its sweet-and-salty combination with grilled pineapple. Eaten with a cold beer, it was so good!
Is the teriyaki-mayo kids' burger good for children?

The Teri-mayo kids' burger is sweet teriyaki with rich mayo, a combination that suits kids. Being a handmade burger, it's thick, and I thought it might be a bit hard for the kids, so I pressed it flat with my hand before giving it to them. They held it themselves and ate it up so well :)
Chili Mozzarella Cheese Bar

The Chili Mozzarella Cheese Bar seemed to be a trendy item these days, so I ordered it, and it was my first time trying one at Bas Burger Seongsu. Crispy fried mozzarella sticks with a spicy chili sauce, packed with cheese and nicely spicy. I really enjoyed it. It's also a popular side with beer, they say. The notice said that if you take it away, it's even better after 20–30 seconds in the microwave. There's also a new item, the Double Crunch, with a mozzarella cheese bar, crunchy chicken and a morning bun.
Downsides of Bas Burger Seongsu

Bas Burger Seongsu gets a lot of delivery orders, so the food took a little while to come out. Still, we kept eating chips while we waited, so it felt quicker than I expected.
It's a burger place I'd love to come back to whenever I'm in Seongsu. If you're looking for a Seoulsup restaurant on a day out with the kids, give it a try for the unlimited chips and handmade burgers :)
