Seosan conveyor-belt sushi with ankimo and udon: Mikado Sushi

In short

Mikado Sushi Chungnam Seosan Branch is a conveyor-belt sushi restaurant in Seosan, Chungnam, where every plate costs 2,100 won. I ate comfortably in a sofa booth with my baby and especially loved the ankimo, taco wasabi, flounder fin, and ankimo sweet-shrimp hand roll. Verdict: A great-value spot for sushi and noodle dishes chosen exactly to your taste.

Seosan conveyor-belt sushi where every plate is ₩2,100

A conveyor-belt sushi restaurant opened in Seosan, so I went! :))) Every plate is the same price!! Whatever you eat, it’s ₩2,100 a plate!! Even when my sushi-maniac household eats until we’re stuffed, we’ve never hit ₩100,000?? Haha. So rather than going to an all-you-can-eat place, conveyor-belt sushi ends up being much better quality and tastier for us.

Choose a sofa booth with a baby, or bar seats for two or three

Since it’s conveyor-belt sushi, I recommend the bar if two or three people are visiting! For four or more, there are four-person sofa booths. I think bar tables are the most convenient way to eat conveyor-belt sushi—you can watch the belt and quickly grab your favorites! But we visited with a baby that day, so we sat in a sofa booth and still had a comfortable meal ;))))

Mikado Sushi bar and sofa booth seating

Every single plate is the same price—whatever you choose, it’s ₩2,100!! I had visited another Mikado Sushi branch before, but this one had menu items that branch didn’t!! There were maki hand balls, salmon cube hand rolls, sea bream, ankimo (monkfish liver), abalone, tuna maki, and more—really delicious sushi at low prices. :)))

To say it upfront, my recommendations are the ankimo, taco wasabi (octopus with wasabi), flounder fin, and ankimo sweet-shrimp hand roll! I enjoyed them so much. The other items were nicely tasty too, but these are truly the ones I recommend :)

The taste of monkfish-liver ankimo and flounder fin

I was so curious about the ankimo, and the monkfish liver was really soft. My immediate thought after taking a bite was, “It’s so creamy!” Unlike uni, it melted softly right away, and that was so delicious :)

The flounder and flounder fin were in such great condition too. The flounder fin had that pleasantly springy texture while melting away in the mouth—exactly, exactly the style I love :) No fishiness, just springy, nutty deliciousness.

And you can order anything that isn’t on the belt using the tablet! So you don’t have to crane your neck waiting for or staring at the belt. There were really lots of desserts on the belt that day. So many sweet desserts—perfect for finishing the meal!

Order fried dishes and udon exactly how you like

I should have recorded everything we ate, but I was too busy chomping away.. hehe. The aged-kimchi fresh-fish sushi, seasoned shrimp, and ankimo sweet-shrimp hand roll were all unbelievably good too. And sushi alone can feel a little incomplete, right? We had fried squid and fried shrimp too, and while there is miso soup, having udon broth as well is just ahh… 👍🏻

Besides udon, the noodle dishes include ramen and soba too. It’s really perfect for eating exactly according to your taste. Oh, and the udon comes mild, regular, or spicy—and the spicy one is seriously spicy;; haha. It’s udon, but it’s spicy. So I always order the regular udon at Mikado Sushi. I somehow feel like the mild version might be too bland.. haha.

Beef tartare sushi, easy parking, and waiting seats

You have to eat some classic sushi too, right? We had beef tartare, shrimp, and scallops :) Beef tartare sushi can taste fishy at bad places, you know. But this beef tartare sushi was genuinely clean-tasting and nutty :) The shrimp was fresh, and the scallops had no off smell either! They disappeared in the blink of an eye, haha. The sushi really vanished in no time..ㅠ It just melts in your mouth.

Nom, beef tartare sushi. Why do I look so piggy in this..ㅠ The rice portion and fish size were just right, so it was delicious. There’s something special about getting to try ankimo at such a low price. And something so comfortable about eating as much clean, neat sushi as you want.

The parking lot is right in front of the restaurant, so it was easy to use :)) There is also a large waiting area at the entrance, so even if there’s a wait, it looks like you could wait comfortably. If you’re looking for delicious sushi or a conveyor-belt sushi restaurant in Seosan, how about Mikado Sushi Chungnam Seosan Branch? :)

The ankimo, taco wasabi, flounder fin, and ankimo sweet-shrimp hand roll are truly recommended menu items :)
