On a day when I was craving Western food, I went back and forth on where to go and ended up at Plan A Restaurant. I love that the Songdo area in Pohang has so many places where you can eat with the sea right in front of you, so this time I visited Plan A Restaurant, a Pohang Songdo spot near Songdo Beach.

Overall the vibe is modern. Not too casual, but not overly formal either, so it seems like a good fit for anything from a family meal to a date to an anniversary dinner.

A European feel comes through everywhere you look. It genuinely felt like I'd been transported to Europe.

F-moment activated!! Seeing the sweet lettering that said, 'You don't have to be special, have a happy day' really moved me, and I stared at it for a while. T_T Visiting Plan A Restaurant, I felt happy in that moment ♥

So I looked closer, and there it was — since 2015! Plan A Restaurant has been running since 2015. The interior was so clean and well-kept that I never would have guessed it's been over 10 years. It felt like exactly the kind of history a Pohang Songdo landmark restaurant should have.

One small disappointment about this visit was that it was raining, so we didn't get to see the gorgeous Pohang Songdo ocean view in full. T_T

The ocean view on a rainy day had its own quiet charm, but I found myself wishing to come back on a clear day to enjoy the pretty ocean view together with the meal.

What three of us ordered by tablet at Plan A

Ordering is simple — just use the tablet set up at your table. We ordered one dish per person: shrimp rosé spaghetti, truffle aglio olio, and shrimp cream risotto. ✨

Even looking at the photo again, it's mouthwatering 🦐 The shrimp were fresh and plump, and the texture was fantastic. The rosé sauce blended in so well that even my husband, who can't handle spice, ate it happily.

A healthier-tasting truffle aglio olio. This is the dish that dieting-mode Ppotto-mom polished off happily. The sharp truffle flavor and the mushrooms' clean, mild taste worked together to cut through any heaviness. I'm supposed to be dieting, but I kept eating it that day haha.

Shrimp cream risotto: the dish the picky eater loved

The shrimp cream risotto that Ppotto, my picky eater, raved about. The nutty, savory flavor was outstanding.

Ppotto never says food is delicious, whether we eat out or I cook at home — but with this shrimp cream risotto, she kept saying it was delicious. I'd strongly recommend it as a kids' menu pick. 👍

Final verdict: who Plan A Restaurant suits

💛 My overall take on Plan A Restaurant, a Pohang Songdo spot. What I liked most was being able to enjoy the food, the atmosphere, and the sea view all at once. Raw fish or mulhoe (cold raw fish soup) are great choices in Pohang Songdo too, but this is a good place to visit when you want to switch things up and have pasta or steak instead.
