It is still hot during the day, but there is a breeze in the mornings and evenings, so I guess it really is fall after all~ Today, I want to introduce a great Korean set-meal restaurant near Simhaksan in Paju~ It is also not far from Paju Lotte Premium Outlets. How about stopping by for a healthy Korean meal after outlet shopping? Haha
Simhaksan Deulkkot Ssambap (심학산 들꽃쌈밥)
There are so many good places to eat near Simhaksan. There is a famous eojuk (fish soup with rice) place, as well as plenty of cafés and pasta restaurants~ Among them, Deulkkot Ssambap is a healthy Korean restaurant I always enjoy visiting. I have been here several times on weekdays, but on weekend visits especially, there always seems to be a steady stream of people.

Simhaksan Deulkkot Ssambap has spacious parking lots spread out on both sides of the restaurant.

This is a Simhaksan Korean set-meal favorite that I visit now and then. I came with my only daughter, Ellie, and I have often come just with my husband too~ Come to think of it, I came with Teacher Eunseon as well~ This visit was on a Sunday, and we arrived around 6 p.m. Lots of families come on weekends.

Simhaksan Deulkkot Ssambap can have a wait, so I recommend making a reservation if possible on weekends.

After-meal desserts, vegetables, and side dishes
As soon as we entered, I spotted the coffee and ice cream~ You can enjoy them for free after your meal, but Jini is not much of an ice-cream fan, so although I see them every time I come, I passed.

They also have old-fashioned snacks for dessert. These are nicely crunchy and tasty, so I usually grab two or three after eating. Plastic gloves are provided beside them, so please do wear gloves when you take some^^

Jini and her partner are vegetable lovers.

The fresh vegetables and flavorful side dishes are what Simhaksan favorite Deulkkot Ssambap is proud of~ Every time we come, Jini and her partner pile them high and eat our fill, haha.

There were already lots of people there~ There are private rooms beside the waiting area, and whenever I look in, families are always having gatherings there.
It is already famous around Simhaksan for Korean food.

Deul Set Meal with spicy squid and pork
Simhaksan Deulkkot Ssambap serves Korean set meals. There are the Deul Set Meal and the Flower Set Meal, and you can add several à la carte dishes too. The Flower Set Meal is the Deul Set Meal with atka mackerel and mackerel added, but Jini and her partner always go for the Deul Set Meal^^

It is a busy restaurant, so the staff are moving about briskly too~ They first set out the side dishes like this, and every single one is delicious^^ If you run out while eating, you can use the self-service bar.

After laying out the side dishes, they bring doenjang-jjigae (soybean paste stew) and pumpkin porridge. The pumpkin porridge is absolutely honey-sweet^^

A full table was beautifully set. I was so hungry that I could practically feel myself drooling^^

And how delicious were the squid and spicy pork! I loved the nicely spicy sauce blend~ haha. They give you plenty of sauce, so it is perfect for mixing with rice too!

What Korean could possibly dislike a spread that looks like this? Jini and her partner's hearts always flutter in front of good food~ We had such a delicious meal. My husband is satisfied every time we come to this Simhaksan favorite, so whenever I say, “Let’s go to Deulkkot Ssambap,” my vegetable-loving partner is immediately ready to head out^^

The happiest moments are when you come to a good restaurant with someone you love, share a meal, and talk like this~~ This day lifted my mood too with one of those small but certain joys.

Finishing with nurungji sungnyung and crunchy snacks
We finished our meal with gentle nurungji sungnyung (scorched-rice tea). Digestion gets weaker as you get older, but after a delicious meal, having sungnyung makes my stomach feel comfortable.

Jini gave him a little of my rice, so my husband is still eating away enthusiastically~^^

We enjoyed it so much~ We cleared every bit of all that food!^^

I grabbed a few snacks on the way out, but my rice-loving husband said he was full, so Jini polished them off in no time, haha. I strongly recommend Simhaksan Deulkkot Ssambap to anyone looking for a Korean set-meal restaurant near Simhaksan.
