Weekday no-wait Korean BBQ with $5 kids set: 2002 Witch's Arpeggio
In short
2002 Witch's Arpeggio is a Korean BBQ restaurant with creekside outdoor seating in Wabu-eup, Namyangju, Gyeonggi. Visiting on a weekday at opening time with a kid meant no waiting and an outside creek-view table, where the writer had the 5,000-won tteokgalbi (grilled short rib patty) kids set, jar-aged tomato-sauce pork belly, potato pancake, and pollock roe scorched-rice fried rice from the cauldron. The tomato-sauce pork belly, made without gochujang, was clean-tasting enough for both a spice-sensitive adult and a child, earning a promise to come back.

If you're going on a drive around Namyangju, here's a place I want to recommend — a Namyangju Korean BBQ spot with an amazing creekside outdoor-seating vibe, 2002 Witch's Arpeggio!!! It's great for couples to be all couple-y, and even though it's not far, it feels like a proper getaway, so it's also good for group gatherings — a tasty BBQ place.

What about parking and waiting?

Drove over to this Namyangju BBQ restaurant! On the way up I noticed some people had come by taxi haha ㅇㅅㅇ There's a big open lot right in front of the restaurant, so parking wasn't hard at all (on a weekday).

We visited on a weekday right at opening, so there was no wait, but on weekends, since it's such an outdoor-seating-vibe hotspot, there does seem to be waiting!!! If there's a wait, you can wait comfortably either at the café next door or the 2nd-floor waiting area.
Seasoned pork belly by a clear, babbling creek

I'd already seen videos of the atmosphere here and had it saved for whenever I next had a reason to go to Namyangju — 2002 Witch's Arpeggio! Sure enough, once I got there it felt like a completely different world, such a gorgeous and relaxed space.

Right next to the dining tables, a clear creek flows by — I get why this place is even more popular in the middle of summer. Listening to and watching the cool, rushing water while eating delicious pork belly, Arpeggio was pure healing.

There were indoor seats too, but I feel like it's worth the trip — even worth waiting for — to sit outside haha. It's a dog-friendly restaurant, and there's a separate dog-friendly seating area inside, but unfortunately that one's indoors and not creek-view.
The menu, and pork belly seasoned without gochujang
This Namyangju BBQ restaurant is known for its seasoned pork belly made with tomato sauce instead of gochujang (chili paste)! Every table I looked at was eating that dish haha. No need to agonize over the menu — there are also plenty of sides to enjoy alongside the meat.

The signature dish at this Namyangju date-spot restaurant, tomato-sauce pork belly, apparently uses no gochujang at all — the flavor comes from tomato sauce, pineapple, and various other ingredients. 👍 All the other ingredients seemed carefully chosen and healthy too!

Pork belly aging in a jar — before tasting it you might tilt your head at the idea of tomato sauce?! Don't doubt it, just go visit!! It's the best seasoned pork belly I've had in a while.♥️
Witch's Rice Thief tteokgalbi kids set

Since I was visiting with my kid, instead of the spicy seasoned pork belly we ordered the kids menu — 5,000 won worth of happiness.

Maybe because we were eating out with the creek breeze on us, my kid enjoyed it even more, which was satisfying to see. There's a kids menu, so don't worry about visiting as a family with children.
Witch's jar-aged tomato-sauce pork belly

When you order the tomato-sauce pork belly, a set of base side dishes for wrapping the meat comes out — fresh vegetables, rice crackers, seaweed for wrapping, and a spicy perilla-leaf sauce that cuts through the richness cleanly.

What was surprising was the tomato kimchi(?) — making something so different out of tomatoes shouldn't work, but it wasn't weird at all, it was charming, a side dish that kept drawing my chopsticks back.

Once we ordered the tomato-sauce pork belly and the potato pancake, the whole table was full :)
First, the dish I was most looking forward to — the tomato-sauce pork belly! It looked thicker and more coated than I expected.
A staff member grills the meat for you, and the paper underneath isn't parchment paper — apparently it's eco-friendly hanji (traditional Korean paper)!! 👍

The staff kept coming back to flip and grill the meat, so we had nothing to do but sit back and be healed by the creek sounds — the Namyangju date-spot restaurant '2002 Witch's Arpeggio.'
The sauce looked like it might be burning, but the meat was cooked just right. The flavor I'd been so curious about — 'wait, this is really tomato sauce?!' — turned out incredibly clean with an explosion of savory depth!! The sauce was so good that I kept reaching for more meat — a real Namyangju pork belly spot.

You can wrap the meat various ways in the seaweed and rice crackers served as side dishes, but personally the sauce was so tasty that I was happy just eating the meat plain. ((Next time I definitely have to try the cheese version.))
It wasn't very spicy, so even someone who's sensitive to spice — or even an elementary schooler — could enjoy it happily. Pork belly you could eat many different ways alongside clean side dishes! What I half-doubted about the tomato sauce turned into full confidence, and I'm already planning to come back.
Witch's crispy-outside, chewy-inside potato pancake

A side dish just as popular as the pork belly — the potato pancake!

The crispiness is on a totally different level from potato pancakes elsewhere — if you're visiting with a group, I definitely recommend ordering this too.
Not just the edges, but the entire surface is peak crispy. Yet inside, it stays wonderfully chewy — a potato pancake that everyone, from kids to adults, devoured.
Eaten with the pickled onions or the perilla-leaf side dish, it goes down even more cleanly — the kind of dish that makes you think of makgeolli (Korean rice wine) haha.
Cauldron scorched-rice fried rice loaded with pollock roe
If you've had the pork belly, this is the dessert you have to try — scorched-rice fried rice with the savory, salty punch of pollock roe alive in every bite.

After finishing the meat, they make fried rice for you in a small cauldron — with a properly crisped scorched-rice layer plus pollock roe, it made for a satisfying, filling finish. 👍
Wrapping up with clean air and creekside healing

Arpeggio, a Namyangju spot known for its vibe and outdoor seating, turned out even more delicious than I expected across every dish — the kind of Namyangju BBQ restaurant that deserves a round of applause. Dipping my feet in the cool creek and soaking up that getaway feeling made it an even better place to visit. If you want good food for a Namyangju date or a gathering, definitely go check it out.♥️
