During our trip to Sokcho, we stopped by Sokcho Tourist & Fishery Market Large Parking Lot inside Sokcho Central Market to pick up dinner for our accommodation. This time, the two of us had a red snow crab lunch box and crab-shell fried rice.

They packed freshly steamed red snow crab into a lunch box, which made it easy to take back to our accommodation. Instead of eating at a restaurant, we enjoyed it there with a drink.

Sokcho Tourist & Fishery Market Large Parking Lot is tucked into an alley of Sokcho Central Market, so it was easy to stop by while looking around the market. The address is 16 Jungang-ro 147beon-gil, Tourist & Fishery Market, 1st floor, Unit 124. It was conveniently located for picking up other foods such as dakgangjeong (sweet crispy chicken) or fried snacks at the same time.

The shop was kept clean. It is a takeout-only spot that steams crabs to order and packs them into lunch boxes, so it suited us well when we wanted to eat crab comfortably at our accommodation.

How can you choose a red snow crab or snow crab lunch box?

The menu was divided into red snow crab lunch boxes and snow crab lunch boxes. For red snow crab, you could choose a two- or three-crab lunch box according to the number of people and how much you wanted. Snow crab prices varied by size, meat yield, and weight.

We added two servings of crab-shell fried rice to a two-crab red snow crab lunch box. It was an appropriate amount for two people.

The crab-shell fried rice was mild rather than heavily seasoned or intense. The flavor of crab innards and the nuttiness of sesame oil came together without being overpowering.

We liked topping the fried rice with picked red snow crab meat. The slight saltiness of the crab meat went well with the mild fried rice, so we kept eating them together.

It was nice to pick it up while exploring the market and eat it comfortably at our accommodation. The red snow crab meat we had was moist and the fried rice was mild, making this a fitting option when you want to enjoy crab for dinner or a late-night meal at your accommodation.
