Sokcho seafood market red snow crab takeaway
In short
Sokcho Tourist & Fishery Market Large Parking Lot is a seafood shop inside Sokcho Jungang Market, where I picked up a prepared red snow crab lunchbox to eat at my accommodation. The crab was easy to remove from the shell, with a satisfying amount of moist, gently sweet meat, though I still had to pick out the meat myself.

While looking around Sokcho Jungang Market, I picked up a red snow crab lunchbox from Sokcho Tourist & Fishery Market Large Parking Lot (예스수산). I chose it because I wanted to eat comfortably at my accommodation, and I was happy with both the preparation and the taste of the crab meat.

Where is the shop in Sokcho Jungang Market?
The shop is in Unit 124 on the first floor of the Tourist & Fishery Market, toward the inside of Sokcho Jungang Market. It was easy to stop by while looking around the market; I found it after passing through the section where several places sell red snow crab.

The shop was neatly organized, so it was easy to look over the red snow crabs on display. From what I saw, they generally looked to be in good condition.

The staff member kindly explained things when I had questions. I liked being able to look at the crab myself and ask questions before choosing.

Why did I choose a red snow crab lunchbox for my accommodation?
Red snow crab and king crab can feel expensive, so I had hesitated to choose them during my trip. This red snow crab lunchbox felt like a satisfying choice for the price.

There was an option to have whole red snow crab packed up, or to choose a prepared option that was easier to eat. I chose the red snow crab lunchbox because it looked convenient for taking back to my accommodation and having as a simple meal.

It was prepared for eating, so I did not need to start preparing it again at my accommodation. I still had to remove the meat from the shells, but it felt easier than preparing a whole red snow crab myself.
How was the packaging for taking it back to my accommodation?
It was packed neatly. After buying it at the market, I felt it had been prepared well for taking back to my accommodation and eating there.

When I opened the package, I noticed the nutty, gently sweet aroma of red snow crab before any unpleasant fishy smell. The contents were also arranged neatly for eating.
How full was the red snow crab lunchbox?
When I eat red snow crab, how much meat it has is important to me. At first, I worried that a lunchbox might not have much meat, but I was relieved when I opened it and found it was fairly full.

The red snow crab I ate visibly had a reasonable amount of meat. When I removed it from the shell and tried it, it was moist and tender rather than dry, which I liked.

How did I eat the red snow crab meat, and what did it taste like?
Since it had already been partly prepared, it was easy to remove the meat from the shells. Each time a piece slid out, picking and eating it was enjoyable too.

The red snow crab meat was mild with a subtle sweetness, so it was satisfying without extra seasoning. I ate some pieces on their own and gathered some together to eat with rice. It was nice to be able to eat comfortably at my accommodation after walking around during the trip.
What kind of itinerary does a red snow crab lunchbox suit?
It suited an itinerary where I wanted a simple red snow crab meal at my accommodation after looking around the market food stalls. It would be good to share with several people, but I also thought this prepared option would be convenient when traveling alone.

What stayed with me this time was being able to inspect and choose the red snow crab myself, the kind service, and the preparation that made it easy to eat at my accommodation. If I crave red snow crab on another trip to Sokcho, I would like to stop by again.
