Yangyang café with river views and electric boats: Cafe Dunchi
In short
Cafe Dunchi is a large café in Yangyang, Gangwon, overlooking the Namdaecheon River and offering water-leisure activities. During my trip to Yangyang, I visited Cafe Dunchi (카페 둔치) for the third time. My parents had also enjoyed it when I brought them here before. This time, too, I drank something while looking out at the Namdaecheon River and rode an electric boat.

Where is Cafe Dunchi, and is parking convenient?
Cafe Dunchi is at the Water Sports Center on 295 Ilchul-ro in Yangyang-eup. The parking lot was spacious and easy to use, and the facilities were kept neat.

At the time of the original post, the café was listed as open daily from 10:00 to 21:00, with last orders at 20:30. Boat rides were available from 10:00 to 18:00. There was also a notice that saving the place on Naver Place would provide a 10% discount coupon.

What views and menu can you enjoy at the café?
On the second floor, you can relax while looking out at the Namdaecheon River. Electric boat and hwangpo dotbae (traditional yellow-sailed boat) experiences are also available at the same place, so it was convenient to combine the café with water leisure.

The second floor has full-height windows, giving a clear view of the Namdaecheon River scenery. Drinking something while taking in the open view made it feel like I was truly on a trip.

There was a wide selection of bakery items, desserts, coffee, and drinks. The interior was spacious and clean, making it comfortable to rest after an activity or stay for a while.

How long is the electric boat ride, and how easy is it to operate?
I rode the electric boat again on this visit. Each boat could be used for 30 minutes, and a staff member kindly explained how to operate it. The steering was simple, so I got used to it quickly.

I connected Bluetooth, played music I liked, and slowly traveled along the Namdaecheon River. I could set my drink in the cup holder and spend a relaxed time in the breeze.
How was it for a family trip with a child?
During this experience, my child also tried steering in a section without obstacles and really enjoyed it. Spending time together on the river was memorable for our family.
The spacious parking and clean interior made the café easy to use, and I was satisfied that I could enjoy both the Namdaecheon River view and the boat experience in one place. I felt it suited a stop during a family trip or time together as a couple.
