Sejong Italian date: daytime white wine & truffle cream panne, Olivus

In short

Olivus Compagno Sejong Boram Branch is a pasta and pizza restaurant on Sicheong-daero in Boram-dong, Sejong. For a special day, the writer booked ahead and paired truffle cream panne (pasta served in a bread bowl), spicy aglio e olio and arugula potato pizza with a chilled bottle of white wine, then took a walk along the Gangbyeon riverside right outside. With a relaxed atmosphere and reasonable prices, Olivus Compagno is a solid pick for a date or family meal when you want to treat yourself.

Today is a special day 💗 A precious treasure has come to our home, and I wanted to spend a gift of a day with them, so I booked a table at Olivus Compagno Sejong Boram Branch. It serves Western food like pasta and pizza, the mood is lovely and the prices aren't scary, so it was a great place to go when you want to treat yourself.

We even ordered a bottle of white wine. The atmosphere was great for drinking wine and the price was fine too, so we were happy. If you want a date on a special day or are looking for a restaurant with a good mood, I'd recommend it. Okay, let's start the story of Olivus Compagno, a great Sejong date spot!

Olivus Compagno Sejong Boram Branch location: a date course that continues to a riverside walk

Olivus Compagno Sejong Boram Branch is on the first floor at 127 Sicheong-daero, Sejong, and you can walk along the river (Gangbyeon) right in front after your meal. What can I say about the location? Eat at Olivus Compagno, stroll the riverside out front, and your date course for the day is done. Tasty food and a relaxed walk too: that's killing two birds with one stone, right? The mood is fantastic as well, so I wanted to recommend it as a Sejong date spot.

The exterior is so cute and pretty. The moment we arrived in front of the building, it felt like being on a trip in Europe. On a nice day, taking photos, eating, then walking to the river would be perfect for a special-day course.

Inside Olivus Compagno Sejong Boram Branch, the ceilings are high, so it feels open, and everything was tidy overall. It isn't only the outside that's pretty; the inside has a nice mood too, and I liked it. We booked ahead and were seated right away, but while we ate, there were guests waiting. The small plates were super cute too. It felt like they cared even about little props and tableware, so taking photos was fun. Good food in a nice setting really put me in a treat-yourself mood.

What we ordered at Olivus Compagno

At Olivus Compagno Sejong Boram Branch we ordered two pastas, one pizza and a bottle of white wine. Two pastas and a pizza for a bit of everything, and wine to go with it!

  • Aglio e olio pasta
  • Truffle cream panne pasta (pasta served in a bread bowl)
  • Arugula potato pizza
  • One bottle of white wine

The white wine came out first at Olivus Compagno. It arrived chilled like this, so we could enjoy it cold, which was nice.

It's broad daylight, but a glass of wine in a mood like this? I can't resist, hahaha. It was a special day, so we ordered it to celebrate, and it turned out to be a good match for the food.

We started with a happy cheers 🍷 With wine added to good food, it felt different from an ordinary meal. On days like this I somehow take even more photos.

Truffle cream panne pasta: is the truffle too strong?

The truffle cream panne pasta at Olivus Compagno had a truffle aroma that wasn't too strong and blended well with the cream sauce. It was the first dish out, and the baguette stuffed with cream sauce was totally my style just by looks. The charm of panne is that you can eat the bread too.

The noodle texture was good, and I liked it even more because the truffle wasn't overpowering. Too much truffle can mask other flavors, but here it blended with the cream sauce just enough, so it was easy to eat.

The cream sauce was thick and generous. Even tossing the noodles in the sauce wasn't too heavy, and dunking the baguette in plenty of cream was delicious too. If you love sauce, I think you'll be happy with a panne dish.

Order the aglio e olio with the spicy option: a stroke of genius

The aglio e olio at Olivus Compagno has an option on the menu to make it spicy, and when I ordered the spicy version it wasn't greasy at all. It's my brother-in-law's favorite dish so we ordered it, and that was a stroke of genius.

It keeps the characteristic flavor of an oil pasta while the spice makes you keep eating! Ordered with the cream pasta, the two dishes' flavors didn't overlap, so it was a good combination.

The garlic aroma was good, and the roasted garlic was so tasty that I kept picking at it. If you like aglio e olio, I recommend trying it spicy!

Arugula potato pizza: a size that's fine to order alongside pasta

The arugula potato pizza at Olivus Compagno wasn't too big, so ordering it with pasta didn't feel like too much. It was the last dish, and when you want to try several things, a pizza this size was actually better.

Mom said she'd never had arugula before, but after trying it she said it was delicious and ate it happily. The distinctive arugula aroma went well with the chewy pizza dough, a better combination than I expected. Even people who don't eat arugula often should find it easy to try.

Pasta and pizza in good measure plus a glass of white wine: the icing on the cake! Tasty food and a nice mood made it perfect for celebrating a special day. Best of all, you can walk along the river (Gangbyeon) right in front after the meal. Good Western food, then a walk and a chat: hard to beat as a date course.

Olivus Compagno Sejong Boram Branch: overall verdict

Olivus Compagno Sejong Boram Branch was a great place to enjoy pasta, pizza and wine in a nice space. The truffle cream panne had an appealing smooth, thick cream sauce, and the spicy aglio e olio wasn't greasy, which satisfied me. Adding the arugula potato pizza made the menu combination good too.

Above all, the meal can continue into a riverside walk, so I'd recommend it as a special-day date course! There may be a wait, so if you want to eat at leisure, I recommend booking before you go.
