Sejong bingsu café: ₩17,000 injeolmi bingsu for two at Café The Corner
In short
Café The Corner is a roastery café on the corner of the Hanshin Hue City building in Dodam-dong, Sejong, reportedly awarded a Blue Ribbon 12 years in a row since 2015. The writer shared a 17,000-won injeolmi bingsu (shaved milk ice with roasted soybean powder) between two people; the milk ice was soft and the Korean-grown red beans were not too sweet, so the bowl never got cloying. For a nutty, moderately sweet homemade injeolmi bingsu in Sejong, Café The Corner is a sure pick.

How many years has Café The Corner won a Blue Ribbon?
Café The Corner is said to have won a Blue Ribbon every single year from 2015 up to this year, a whopping 12 years in a row. The first thing that catches your eye as you open the door is this Blue Ribbon 💙 I got so excited about how good it would be 🤤

What is the interior and seating like at Café The Corner?
The inside of Café The Corner is cozy and snug with wood-tone interior. There's a range of seating, from window seats looking out at the fountain to group seating in the middle, so it's perfect for dates and group gatherings 👍 (on the day I visited, there was what looked like a club meeting, actually)
There's also terrace seating outside, so it's just right for relaxing on a nice day 🌿

Café The Corner drink menu and price range
Café The Corner has lots of drinks, including coffee, tea, ades, smoothies and frappuccinos, and the coffee is said to be roasted in-house, with homemade syrups/preserves used. So it's also good for people who don't drink coffee, or for visiting with kids.
Oh, now I see they sell the roasted beans too!! If you try the coffee and love it, you can buy the beans as well. There's a wide variety of drinks, and in these high-price days the prices are really reasonable, which I loved even more 💗 They said they roast the coffee themselves, so I was thinking of getting a coffee drink, but then...

How many kinds of bingsu does Café The Corner serve?
Café The Corner has 4 kinds of bingsu (shaved ice dessert): apple mango, Oreo, injeolmi (roasted soybean powder rice cake) and black sesame. They said the red beans are homemade too, so I ordered the injeolmi bingsu haha. How could anyone resist after seeing this bingsu?! T_T

How does Café The Corner's ₩17,000 injeolmi bingsu taste?
The injeolmi bingsu at Café The Corner is ₩17,000 and comes with roasted soybean powder piled generously on top of milk ice. The look alone is crazy 🫢 The moment it lands on the table, a nutty aroma rises up, and with nuts, cornflakes and rice cake toppings spilling over, just looking at it fills you up, hahaha
Mixing it right away~!~!

It's nutty yet moderately sweet, so so good 👍👍👍 The milk ice is honestly softer than Sulbing's, and since the red beans are 100% domestic, the sweetness isn't artificially strong, just right. Pine nuts, almonds and cornflakes add crunch ✨ From the first bite, I understood why it won a Blue Ribbon 12 years in a row.

Is the injeolmi bingsu big enough for two people?
The injeolmi bingsu at Café The Corner was generous: shared by 2 people, it left us slightly full. It even had 2 soft, chewy rice cakes, so we split one each, haha
Honestly, injeolmi bingsu can choke you or get too sweet and tiresome quickly if it's not done right, but at Café The Corner the nuttiness + moderate sweetness + soft milk ice blend perfectly and it just kept going down endlessly. It's a menu everyone from kids to adults will love, so I really, truly recommend it ⭐️
Who is Café The Corner in Sejong best for?
- A calm, atmospheric café with a neighborhood hangout feel
- House-roasted coffee and homemade red bean bingsu all year round
- A café with easy parking that stays open until the early morning
If the homemade red bean bingsu is this good, I can't even imagine how good the house-roasted coffee is,,, haha I plan to come back to try a coffee drink next time. If you want to unwind in a warm, hangout-like atmosphere, different from big, flashy, grand cafés, I recommend Café The Corner in Dodam-dong~!
