What is Downtown Daegu Believe Heritage like?

Downtown Daegu Believe Heritage is a handmade burger restaurant in Beomeo-dong, Suseong, Daegu. You can find plenty of Downtown shops in Seoul, but in Daegu this is the one and only! I went a few days ago. I'd had Downtown burgers that a friend brought me, but.. this was my first time at the Heritage branch!!

How to get to Downtown Daegu Believe Heritage

This branch is right in front of the Suseong Believe Heritage apartment complex. It sits on the left side of the Yun Ok-yeon Halmae Tteokbokki building (tteokbokki is spicy rice cakes), which is counted among Daegu's top three tteokbokki places, so probably every Daegu local knows the spot.

What are the atmosphere and seating like?

The place was clean and hip like a café, and really spacious and open~ Downtown is said to be a burger shop that uses fresh ingredients so busy city people can eat quickly and easily.

Judging by the lighting and the little props, a lot of effort went into the interior, and the chairs and tables aren't boring either, with everything from 4-person tables to group seating for lots of people.

As expected, it's a trustworthy burger spot in Suseong-gu, the only Downtown handmade burger place in Daegu.

How do you order at Downtown?

You order at Downtown Daegu Believe Heritage using a kiosk~ There's also a menu board standing by the entrance that you can take in at a glance. And there's a really wide variety of hearty menu items!! From patties to avocado, bulgogi and smash, there were lots of hip, unique-tasting items you can't get anywhere else!!

The tidy self-bar and onion pickles

The Downtown self-bar has two kinds of pickles, spicy and regular. The unusual part is that they're onion pickles, not cucumber pickles.

How do the Classic Downtown Burger and Egg Bulgogi Smash Burger taste?

I ordered the Classic Downtown Burger, the Egg Bulgogi Smash Burger (+₩4,900 for a set with a drink and small fries), onion rings and Hot Honey Chicken Bites.

Classic Downtown Burger

The Downtown Burger is the signature burger, made with a beef patty, bacon, American cheese, grilled onion, romaine, tomato and house sauce.

The basics of a hamburger, the textbook burger!! The soft, moist bun, the juicy patty and the fresh vegetables go together really well, for a very wholesome taste. The sauce isn't heavy or over the top either, just clean-tasting, with a balanced look and flavor.

Egg Bulgogi Smash Burger

The Egg Bulgogi Smash Burger was made with a bulgogi (marinated beef) patty, a fried egg, grilled onion, romaine and classic bulgogi mayo, a burger that seems ordinary but has its own character~

Bulgogi sauce would have tasted rather strong, but since it's bulgogi mayo, the very mild sweet-and-salty flavor blends well with the egg and vegetables!! Isn't this kind of fresh, healthy taste the biggest strength of a handmade burger~

It wasn't easy to pick a winner between the two burgers, but they share the same very balanced taste of healthy, fresh vegetables and ingredients~ Whichever burger you pick depending on your patty preference, you'll be very satisfied!!

How are the Hot Honey Chicken Bites?

The Hot Honey Chicken Bites are boneless fried chicken with a slightly spicy taste. Adding that kick to a hamburger gives it top-notch savoriness!!

Be sure to put onion pickles on your Hot Honey Chicken Bites!! It's boneless chicken thigh, so the quality of the chicken is great too~ Salad-type burgers are fine, but for a meat lover, chicken is still the best~

What about fries and onion rings with the onion pickles?

I also added fries and onion rings, which you can never separate from a burger!! You need at least this much to feel what a real handmade burger is. You all eat at least this much, right??

Dipping them in ketchup is tasty too, but topping them with the spicy onion pickles was a real treat~ Definitely try it this way too~ It's seriously the real deal, so delicious~

Downtown Daegu Believe Heritage: overall verdict

Fresh ingredients go without saying, and with both taste and atmosphere covered, Daegu's only Downtown is a great burger spot in Suseong-gu. These burgers can only be tasted at Downtown Daegu Believe Heritage in Daegu. I recommend going once with your kids or friends!!
