Why I wanted to finish an English book from start to finish
I took on the challenge of finishing The Little Prince in English with Dangye English. This is my review of a fun, easy English-reading study book designed so even beginners can read without a dictionary. I had studied English for a long time, yet I had never actually finished a whole English book, and that had always left me a little disappointed.

The Little Prince, especially, is such a famous classic that I thought it would be easy—but when I opened the original text, the sentences were long and the expressions unfamiliar, so I have plenty of memories of giving up halfway through. Then I found Dangye English's book, built around the idea that even English beginners can read The Little Prince in the original without a dictionary. It is not just an original-language book; it is an English-reading training book organized in five stages, from beginner level through the original text, so it felt different from the English books I had read before.
An easy book even for English beginners

A five-stage way to read The Little Prince
What I liked most about this English edition of The Little Prince was that it presents the same content in five stages.

It includes all 27 chapters of the original text, without picking and choosing, and each chapter is structured by stage with only the vocabulary and sentence structure changed, which felt systematic. Stage 1 uses elementary-school-level vocabulary, so even readers who are not confident in English can start easily.

For example, Stage 1 uses mostly present-tense sentences like, “I see a big snake in a book.” In Stage 2, the tense expands to sentences such as, “I saw a big snake in a book.” Training my English reading this way with Dangye English definitely lowered the barrier to reading English books.
English reading practice for middle and high school students

Could it work for middle and high school English reading, too?
From Stages 3 and 4, the difficulty definitely rises. The sentences become longer and more detailed descriptions are added, so it feels like real English-reading practice rather than simple translation.

In Stage 4 in particular, sentences become longer and their structure more complex, as in, “Once, when I was six years old, I saw a magnificent picture in a book about the primeval forest.” I felt it could easily be used for middle and high school English study, too.

As I read upward through the stages one by one, identifying sentence structure, improving my sense of tense, and natural reading practice all happened at the same time, making this an efficient English study book. That is why I would recommend it not simply as a reading book, but as a textbook for studying English books in the original.
Fun English-book study

The motivation to finish it at the final original-text stage
Stage 5 contains the actual original text of The Little Prince, and that was more motivating than I expected. I used to skip the original because it intimidated me, but having already understood the content thoroughly in the earlier stages, reading it felt much easier.
