There's a place I think of the moment August rolls around — Baedagol Bakery House, a Goyang café. They make a snow ice topped with a mountain of fresh domestic melon 🍈 pouring right over the top🍈.

It's a bakery café packed with all kinds of desserts and bread. With 3 parking lots and easy access for a drive date just outside Seoul, let me introduce this Goyang café worth the trip!

Parking and size at Baedagol Bakery House in Goyang

Tucked among a forest of pear trees, the lot now stretches from Parking Lot 1 to Parking Lot 3, bigger than last year. Even the standing sign at the entrance was advertising the fresh melon snow ice, so I walked in already excited!

Baedagol Bakery House is a genuinely large café in Goyang, with 1st and 2nd floor terraces plus a full garden yard.

Open the door and you're greeted right away by the bakery display case and the counter. Still, grab a seat first before you order!

The room-like space on the 2nd floor is super popular, so if you arrive early, head upstairs first and check if a spot in that private-feeling room is open.

August seasonal switch from mango to melon bingsu

Baedagol rotates in a different menu every season. The snow ice was mango-flavored through July, then switched to melon starting early August. With plenty of coffee options plus handmade teas, there were quite a few older customers there on a weekday afternoon too.

How wide is the bread selection?

True to a Goyang bakery café, there's a really wide range of bread. There were cakes and breads topped with fresh melon, plus various cakes, salt bread, meal breads, and all sorts of desserts.

Wow, can a snow ice really look this pretty? It looked like a painting, so we spent quite a while just taking photos.

The round melon balls make it easy to eat spoonful by spoonful. Neat and pretty enough to enjoy nibbling on even on a date.

You pour the melon syrup over it yourself, and the scoop of ice cream in the center is pretty huge too. Inside, it's packed with fluffy white snow-flake milk ice.

It went great with the hot americano. We even got the sandwich from the event, making for a completely filling dessert time.
