In short

Fruit Forest (과일의숲) is a large fruit-themed café on Dolgoji-gil at the foot of Simhaksan in Paju, Gyeonggi. On a weekend afternoon drive, the writer had fruit drinks, coffee and desserts piled with fruit, and Fruit Forest's high ceilings and wide table spacing kept the café relaxed even at busy times. Fruit Forest is a good Paju drive café for days when you want to linger and rest quietly.

Is Fruit Forest, a large Paju café, worth a weekend drive?

On a weekend drive I stopped by Fruit Forest (과일의숲) in Paju. Paju has so many pretty cafés that I had a hard time deciding where to go, but I was looking for somewhere to feel the nature and relax, and that's how I ended up here. As the name suggests, it has a variety of fruit-themed drinks and desserts, plus a spacious, comfortable space, and I was so happy with it that I wanted to share it.

Fruit Forest parking and atmosphere

Fruit Forest is on the outskirts of Paju, so there's plenty of parking, and even on a weekend afternoon the spaces turned over quickly, which made it easy to visit by car. Getting away from the bustle of the city, I could feel the quiet atmosphere. The moment I walked in, the large space and high ceiling felt open and airy rather than stuffy, and plants and nature-inspired interiors are scattered throughout, so it really feels like stepping into a forest, just like the name.

Seats for solo visits, families and friends

There's a variety of seating, so it's good for enjoying a coffee alone and just as comfortable for families or friends. Warm sunlight came in at the window seats, making the time even more relaxing, and corners are styled like photo spots, so it's great for taking pictures. The natural feel isn't overdone, and it made me want to stay for a long time.

Fruit Forest menu: fruit drinks and decaf coffee

The menu isn't only coffee; there are plenty of drinks made with fruit. There's a wide choice of ades, juices and smoothies made with seasonal fruit, and I was impressed that they use fresh ingredients. The coffee also had a good balance of acidity and nutty richness, an easy style anyone can enjoy, and there's a decaf option too, so you can choose to suit your taste.

How were the desserts, piled high with fruit?

The dessert we ordered alongside was also better than expected. Generously topped with fruit, it looked gorgeous, and the sweetness and tang blended nicely and went well with the coffee. The fruit's freshness came through, so it wasn't heavy, and what I liked most was that it wasn't artificially sweet but let the flavor of the ingredients shine.

Why it didn't feel crowded on a weekend: wide table spacing

The best thing about Fruit Forest was the sense of space. The tables are spaced widely, so there's distance from other guests, and it was comfortable to talk. There were all kinds of visitors, from families with kids to couples and friends, but the mood stayed calm overall, making it a good place to linger and chat.

Staff service and upkeep

The staff were friendly too. They explained the menu in detail when we ordered, and drinks came out relatively quickly. The inside is kept clean, so my overall impression was pleasant. They're small things, but each bit of service like this seems like a reason to come back.

A café to rest at during a Paju drive

Paju is a popular area for drives, and Fruit Forest is well placed for a break after visiting nearby sights. The scenery around it probably changes with each season, so I imagine spring, summer and autumn each feel different. On a day when you want a cup of coffee while looking out at nature, it's a satisfying place.

Flashy, social-media-style cafés are fine, but if you want somewhere you can stay a long time comfortably and naturally recharge, Fruit Forest seems like a good choice. Fresh fruit drinks and desserts, a wide, comfortable space and a relaxed mood: it had everything, and I had a satisfying time.

If you're looking for a café with a nice atmosphere in Paju, I recommend giving Fruit Forest a visit. It's good for a rest during a drive and just as good for a leisurely time with someone special. We enjoyed tasty drinks and desserts together with the freshness of nature, so I think it'll stay in my memory as a café I'd want to come back to next time I'm in Paju.
