What is Supsok Oki Jip Uijeongbu Station Main Branch?
True to its meaning, "SOUP & BEEF HOUSE," Supsok Oki Jip Uijeongbu Station Main Branch (숲속 옥이집) is a BBQ place in front of Uijeongbu Station where you can enjoy warm, refreshing soup dishes together with Uijeongbu beef. I was out with my dad on an errand and it was dinner time, so we went to Supsok Oki Jip, which has been recommended a lot lately as a good Uijeongbu Station restaurant!!
The name alone was unusual, and the restaurant turned out to serve soup dishes together with top-grade beef. Having visited, I was happy with the food and the atmosphere, so I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a date spot in Uijeongbu too.

How close is Supsok Oki Jip to Uijeongbu Station, and where to park?
Supsok Oki Jip Uijeongbu Station Main Branch is right in front of Uijeongbu Station, so it's really easy to get to by public transport. We came by car, and using a nearby public parking lot meant we had no real trouble.
Being close to the station makes it good as a meeting spot, and it's an easy location to visit after work, so I felt the access is really good for anyone looking for a restaurant near Uijeongbu Station.

Supsok Oki Jip's forest-themed interior and atmosphere
The first thing I noticed as soon as I walked into Supsok Oki Jip was the interior, which evokes a forest just like the name. Green plants, warm lighting and charming little props work together, so it felt comfortable, almost like eating in the woods.

Overall it's neat yet cozy, so it suits a family meal as well as a visit with a partner. The mood also comes out beautifully in photos, so I naturally ended up taking a lot of them. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for an Instagram-worthy spot or a nice-atmosphere restaurant in Uijeongbu.

Supsok Oki Jip menu and individual tray table setting
The main menu at Supsok Oki Jip has plenty of choices: diced short rib (kkakdugi sogalbi) known for rich marbling, emperor rib meat (hwangje neukgansal) tossed on the spot to bring out the savory flavor, handmade marinated galbi said to use 100% pork ribs only, and juicy diced pork neck.

In the middle of the table there's a brazier that looks like something out of a Japanese anime.

The basic setting came on a tray with warm soup, sauce and side dishes. Everything is served individually, so it was nice and easy to eat.

How does the emperor rib meat taste?
After some deliberation, we ordered the emperor rib meat, the diced short rib and the Hanpan set (한판 세트) together. The moment the meat arrived I was surprised by how fresh it looked, and then surprised again by how thick it was.

The emperor rib meat I tried first was well soaked in marinade and had really great savory flavor.

The tender texture gave a nutty richness the longer I chewed, and it went really well with rice too.

Grilled golden over the charcoal, the meat smelled really good.

This sauce was seriously so good. I was dying to know the recipe!!

Is the diced short rib a hit with parents?
The diced short rib at Supsok Oki Jip was full of juice thanks to its rich marbling, and the deep beefy flavor came through the more I chewed.

The texture was tender, not tough, so my dad really enjoyed it too. If you want to properly enjoy Uijeongbu beef, I felt this is a must-try.

Tripe hot pot and soup curry in the Hanpan set
Ordering the Hanpan set at Supsok Oki Jip brings tripe hot pot (gopchang jeongol, beef intestine stew) and soup curry together, and both were really impressive.

The tripe hot pot broth was spicy yet deep in flavor, and I thought it would be a perfect drinking snack. It was a real shame I couldn't drink because I'd brought the car.

Next time I definitely want to come by public transport and enjoy it again with some traditional Korean liquor. And the dish that surprised me most personally was the soup curry.

My dad, who almost never eats curry, said "This is really good" and finished almost all of it by himself. It's a soup curry with a smooth, deep flavor.

Is Supsok Oki Jip Uijeongbu Station Main Branch worth a return visit?
Supsok Oki Jip Uijeongbu Station Main Branch was, just like its name, a special restaurant where you can enjoy warm soup dishes together with Uijeongbu beef. It's right in front of Uijeongbu Station so access is excellent, and the forest-like, charming space kept me comfortable throughout the meal.
The emperor rib meat and diced short rib were more satisfying than I expected, and with the tripe hot pot and soup curry that come with the Hanpan set, it has tasty meat, warm soup dishes and a lovely atmosphere all in one. It was such a satisfying time that I'd want to go back after one visit.
