What kind of shop is Viva Trade Eulji Dundaun Dongdaemun Branch?

I've been really into browsing vintage shops lately, so this time I went to Viva Trade Eulji Dundaun Dongdaemun Branch over on the Dongdaemun side. It's a warehouse-style vintage shop of about 200 pyeong! There's a big VIVA VINTAGE STORE sign right from the entrance so it wasn't hard to find at all. The inside was way bigger than I expected, and the discount rates really varied depending on the type of clothing. From a Polo & high-end brand corner to global brands, shirts and knits, hoodies, jackets, overalls and denim — it was all divided up by category, which made it easy to browse!!

Being such a huge place, the shopping carts are huge too... haha

Vintage cup corner: 20% off the marked price

As a goods otaku... I went straight for the vintage goods first!! 😤

This was one of the spots I spent the longest browsing! The vintage cup corner. It had cups produced from the 1990s through the early 2000s all gathered together, with all sorts of designs like Coca-Cola or Disney characters, so it was fun looking through them one by one. And getting 20% off the marked price on top of that — a blessing 🎉

Hello Kitty goods and accessories from 9,000 won

A whole section full of Hello Kitty goods! And Hello Kitty items are 20% off — such a happy world. From plates, cups, dolls and clocks to retro Kitty pieces for interior decorating, the variety was really something. 💗

Passing by the Kitty corner, I noticed there were also accessories — earrings, necklaces, bracelets and the like laid out in a variety of styles, with some items starting from ₩9,000, so it was nice to browse without any pressure.

Vintage cameras, glasses, LPs and the iPod corner

Further inside there were also vintage cameras and glasses, and LPs displayed separately, so I kept stopping mid-browse even while looking at clothes haha. And what really surprised me was the vintage Apple corner. Old iPod models were on display — designs you don't see much these days, so it was oddly nostalgic seeing them. Being able to see things like this all in one space is a highlight of Viva Trade Dongdaemun 🌟

Hoodie, jacket and denim sections at Viva Trade

There was also a hoodie and jacket corner, with everything from basic gray hoodies to colored ones, and jackets ranged from denim to blouson-style pieces.

The jeans came in every shade from light wash to dark wash, so even though it was all denim, it was fun checking each pair individually. Vintage denim has slightly different washing and coloring on each piece, which made browsing more interesting.

What are the discount rates by section?

Discount signage was posted all around the store. Sections like K-VINTAGE, POLO & HIGH-END, and GLOBAL BRANDS each had different discount rates listed, so it's worth checking the price alongside the section while browsing. There was signage for up to 50% off, and 20%, 30% off depending on the category.

A great place to score finds no matter the season, from summer to winter clothes!!

What I bought: a winter vest and Hello Kitty spoon and chopsticks

And in the end I couldn't just leave after browsing... 😂 I picked out a winter vest! In such a huge store, there's fun in discovering items you never expected!! The fitting room was spacious so I could try things on freely. On top of that, I also brought home a Hello Kitty spoon and chopsticks. I thought they'd be cute to use at home, and I loved them the moment I saw them. Pink Hello Kitty chopsticks and a spoon with a Kitty character on it — I still think it was a good buy. 🥹🎀

At the register there was also TAX FREE / TAX REFUND signage.

Planning a Dongmyo and Eulji-ro vintage shopping trip

When you think of a Dongmyo vintage shop, you might picture piles and piles of just clothes, but this place had quite a variety to look at beyond clothing too — vintage cups, character goods, accessories, cameras, glasses, records, even old electronics. Since the store is so large, taking it slow lets you discover things you never expected — that's what made it fun.

If you're planning a Dongmyo vintage shopping trip, this is a great spot to browse everything from clothes to small goods in one place, so it might be worth setting aside plenty of time for a visit. I walked away satisfied with a winter vest plus a Kitty spoon and chopsticks. 😂💙
