Seoulsup dessert café: mango soufflé pancake at Andamiro Pancake

In short

Andamiro Pancake Seongsu (안다미로 팬케이크 성수) is a dessert café specializing in soufflé pancakes, on the 2nd floor of a building tucked inside the Seoulsup café street in Seongdong, Seoul. After a meal at Seoulsup, the writer ordered the mango soufflé pancake, a grapefruit ade and a vanilla latte; the fluffy soufflé split softly under a fork, and the mango juice kept it from getting cloying to the last bite. For a summer fruit dessert, the mango soufflé pancake at Andamiro Pancake Seongsu is a satisfying choice.

After a meal near Seoulsup, I wanted something sweet, so I stopped by Andamiro Pancake Seongsu (안다미로 팬케이크 성수). It specializes in fluffy soufflé pancakes, and since I already love soufflé desserts, I was excited even before going in.

We ordered the seasonal mango soufflé pancake, a grapefruit ade and a vanilla latte. Soft pancake with sweet mango, then alternating sips of a zesty ade and a rich latte, made a great combination.

Andamiro Pancake Seongsu menu and what we ordered

The menu runs from a basic soufflé to soufflé pancakes with seasonal fruit, plus flavors like matcha and strawberry. Here are the three things we ordered:

  • Mango soufflé pancake
  • Grapefruit ade
  • Vanilla latte

Sweet, soft soufflé with fresh fruit, plus a zesty ade and a rich coffee, one each, meant the flavors didn't overlap, so it was a good combo.

How do the mango soufflé pancake taste and feel?

When the mango soufflé pancake arrived, the first things I noticed were the puffed-up pancake and the yellow of the mango. With mango on top of a thick, billowy soufflé, it looked refreshing just sitting there, and the way the pancake jiggled slightly looked so tempting.

The mango soufflé pancake was the one I was most looking forward to. When I cut into it with a fork, it split softly without much pressure, and I could feel a moist, fluffy texture all the way through.

In the mouth, instead of the heavy chew of an ordinary pancake, it melts away lightly, which really impressed me. Adding a piece of mango at a time brought juice that made it feel even more moist than the pancake alone, and I could finish it without getting tired of it.

Tips for enjoying the mango soufflé pancake

If it comes with cream or sauce, I'd suggest having it a little at a time rather than pouring it all on at the start. Enjoy the soufflé's fluffy texture first, then add mango and cream, and you get a nice range of flavor changes. I'd also recommend it to anyone looking for Seoulsup café cake or a different kind of fruit dessert.

How were the grapefruit ade and vanilla latte?

Grapefruit ade at Andamiro Pancake Seongsu

The grapefruit ade wasn't too sour or bitter, and with a moderate sweetness it was easy to drink. If you prefer something zesty and refreshing over coffee, the grapefruit ade should suit you best. It was an especially good pick after walking around Seoulsup on a hot day.

Vanilla latte at Andamiro Pancake Seongsu

The vanilla latte blended smooth milk with sweet vanilla and was comfortable to drink. A faint bitterness of espresso lingered, so it never tasted just sugary, and it paired naturally with the rich pancake.

Verdict: is Andamiro Pancake Seongsu worth a return visit?

  • It's inside the Seoulsup café street, a good location to combine with a Seoulsup walk or a Seongsu date.
  • The warm wood-and-white space was comfortable for chatting over dessert.
  • The mango soufflé pancake was fluffy enough to split softly under a fork, and its moist, lightly melting texture was appealing.
  • Sweet, fresh mango went well with the mild soufflé, making it a satisfying fruit dessert.
  • With everything from soufflé pancakes to brunch dishes, it's a decent stop for a Seoulsup date or a weekend café outing.
