Scalp treatment at 26do Hair, a Suseong hair salon in Daegu

Lately, my scalp had been feeling stuffy and clogged, and I was getting more scalp breakouts than usual, which was really bothering me.. On top of that, my scalp tends to run super hot, so my whole body heats up quickly too..!

So I wanted to try scalp care and did a little searching! I happened to be down in Daegu, and there was a hair salon in Suseong where I could get a treatment near home for a pretty reasonable price, so I quickly booked it on Naver!! The place I visited was 26do Hair Suseong Branch (26도헤어 수성점) in Suseong, Daegu!!

It is a five-minute walk from Daebonggyo Station on Line 3~ You just need to cross Daebonggyo Bridge~~ If you come from Daegu Bank Station on Line 2, it is a bit farther, around a 13-minute walk!

26do Hair Suseong Branch is on the second floor of the Suseong Lotte Castle shopping arcade!

At the counter, tell them your booking time and name first, and they will help store your belongings and get you into a gown~ Also, I heard 26do Hair was named Korea's No. 1 excellent brand this year? It was my first visit, but seeing that made me feel confident, haha.

The salon felt warm and neat~

The treatment I received this time was the scalp trouble & improvement care, and at ₩49,000, it did not feel too burdensome! Director Seoyun personally handled everything from start to finish! While searching, I saw that Director Seoyun's scalp-clinic reviews looked good, so I picked her~~ The treatment took about an hour and a half in total!

Scalp trouble & improvement care steps

1. Scalp brushing and gel application

First, she brushed my scalp with a comb~ Apparently, it is a step that lightly brushes the scalp to help with blood circulation!

Next, she carefully applied gel all over my scalp, and it is meant to soften the dead skin! It contains menthol, so my scalp felt incredibly cool as soon as it went on~ She did say she could see breakouts in spots around my scalp.. I did have at least three pretty big ones.. sob.

The director also massaged my scalp so the gel would spread evenly throughout it!

2. Softening buildup and dead skin

Then I waited for more than 30 minutes while the treatment softened the buildup on my scalp~

While I waited, they brought me a drink and snacks~ I also photographed the menu, so please use it as a reference~~ Since it was hot out, I had an iced honey grapefruit drink, haha.

3. Carbonated cleansing

Once the dead skin had softened, we went to the shampoo room for the step where they use a carbonated spray to thoroughly cleanse the scalp~

The water pressure is stronger than I expected~ So it is really loud too..!

The director showed me the water washed from my scalp in a mirror, and I was shocked.. There were little bubble-like things floating in it, and she said they were surfactant residue from not shampooing and rinsing thoroughly enough.. Usually, the bubbles should disappear, but oil, silicone, and surfactants had mixed together and remained as sticky, oily-looking foam, apparently.. There were also flakes of dead skin and grime floating around. I could not believe it had really come from my scalp.. sob.

4. Deep-cleansing shampoo

After that came the deep-cleansing shampoo step to remove anything left behind, and the director's hands were seriously amazing!! She shampooed so firmly and refreshingly that there was not a single itchy spot left~ It felt like my congested scalp had completely opened up!! After shampooing, I waited about five minutes so the beneficial ingredients in the shampoo could absorb!

5. Scalp pack and massage

After rinsing out the shampoo, we did a scalp pack too! They explained that it is a product that helps balance the scalp's oil-and-moisture levels and pH balance, while helping bring down scalp heat~

She also applied treatment to the ends of my hair and used a scalp massage machine!!

And that was not all—the director gave me a strong acupressure scalp massage with her hands too, and it felt sooo good... This place is paradise...

Lastly, she rinsed everything again, then used a warm aroma towel to wipe my scalp, around my ears, and the back of my neck~ It was warm and made me feel all relaxed and sleepy.

6. Finishing up

Back at my seat, she sprayed on a scalp ampoule before drying my hair and applied cooling herb oil too; I was told the herb oil helps with blood circulation! Finally, she dried my hair, and the whole treatment was done!!

How my scalp felt one week later

After the treatment, my head felt so much lighter~~ And now, as I am writing this blog post, it has been about a week since the treatment~ My scalp is definitely less oily than before, and the itching has decreased a lot too!! One treatment will not solve every scalp concern, of course, but personally, I was quite satisfied.

I used to think only hair care mattered, but I realized scalp care is really important too..!!
