I met up with a friend recently, and she told me she’d had eyelash extensions. But they were seriously so natural and pretty! Even with very light makeup—or almost none at all—she had this deep, defined look, as though she’d carefully done a full makeup look hahaha.

I’m someone who thinks that having a “bare face that looks made up” is really important for managing your image. When your eyes still look defined without makeup, you look so much more lively!

The second I saw my friend’s lashes, I wanted them so badly that I immediately became interested—and finally went for my very first eyelash extensions!!

What was the atmosphere like at Rose Lash?
The place I visited was Rose Lash (로제래쉬), near Jamsilsaenae Station. It’s a specialist salon run by two veteran head artists, each with nine years of eyelash-treatment experience, so I trusted them even more!

The first thing I thought when I walked in was, “This is so clean!” The white-toned interior felt spotless, open, and comfortable, so it put me in a good mood right away haha.

Further inside, there were several treatment beds with generous spacing, so the setup felt comfortable rather than cramped. The bedding and interior were extremely clean too, which made me feel at ease lying down.

How did I choose 11mm C-curl?
The price list was clearly displayed on the wall and at the consultation table. From basic lash perms to flat lashes, double-volume extensions, and mascara extensions, there were so many styles and price points to choose from! Before getting started, I had a personalized one-on-one consultation with the artist.

For length, I could choose 9mm, 10mm, 11mm, or 12mm, and she also explained the different curls: J-curl, C-curl, and CC-curl. J-curl gives a natural, mascara-like effect; C-curl looks like your lashes have been lightly curled with an eyelash curler; and CC-curl is a powerful curl for a fully glamorous, defined look.

It was my first extension treatment, but I still wanted it to be noticeable enough that people would think, “Oh, she got extensions!” After much deliberation, I chose 11mm for the length and C-curl for a medium level of glam!

The artist kindly analyzed my eye shape and helped me settle on the style I wanted, so I could decide comfortably. For anyone wanting a natural result, I think 9mm or 10mm would be perfect and pretty! I went straight for 11mm for a definite effect hahaha.
My first eyelash extension treatment and the change
First, here’s my before! My lashes were simply short and of average fullness—the typical bare-face eyes that look a little plain without an eyelash curler or mascara.
Once I lay down, she began setting the lashes one by one. Amazingly, there was absolutely no stinging, pain, or foreign-body sensation! Her touch was so delicate and gentle that I slept comfortably for about 50 minutes, then woke up to find it all finished. It took less than an hour, so I never got bored.
Ta-da! Here’s the finished after. From the side, the C-curl was clearly lifted, making my eyes look so much deeper. At 11mm, they were definitely longer than I expected, but perhaps because my eyes are on the larger side, they made my eyes look much bigger and more defined!
Even from the side, the dramatically lifted C-curl created such glamorous, pretty eyes that I looked fully made up despite having no makeup on at all. I was so, so happy haha. It was my first eyelash extension treatment, and I couldn’t believe I could have such long, pretty lashes!!

How to maintain eyelash extensions
Eyelash extensions typically last around three to five weeks! The artist also carefully gave me an instruction sheet with precautions to help keep them looking pretty for longer.

Essential aftercare precautions
- Wash your face 3–4 hours after treatment so the glue can fully set.
- For about three days after treatment, avoid places with lots of moisture or sweat, such as jjimjilbang (Korean bathhouses), saunas, and intense exercise.
- Cleansing water is fine, but avoid oily products such as cleansing oil or makeup remover as much as possible, as they can dissolve the glue.

- Sleeping face-down can press on the lashes, causing them to fall out sooner or bend. Sleeping straight on your back is best.
- Try not to rub your eyes or keep touching them with your hands.
- Never use an eyelash curler, as it can bend the extensions or pull out your natural lashes!

I really want to follow these precautions and make them last, so even when I wash up, I carefully avoid rubbing around my eyes! When removing makeup, I soak a cotton pad in cleansing water, gently wipe around my eyes, and finish with a light rinse. Since I’m careful not to rub or irritate them, there’s no foreign-body sensation and my lashes are staying wonderfully secure.

Even bare-faced, my eyes look pretty every time I look in the mirror, so my no-makeup confidence has gone way up!

It was my first-ever eyelash extension treatment, and I was more than 100% satisfied, so I’ve been actively recommending it to people around me. If you’re looking for a great eyelash salon near Jamsil, definitely visit Rose Lash at least once! Hahaha.
