Gumi Korean restaurant lunch with grilled octopus and pork: Imgane
In short
Imgane Nakji Bossam is a Korean restaurant in Jinpyeong-dong, Gumi, serving fire-grilled octopus and herbal boiled pork. We had the two-person Imgane Set for lunch with the kids, adding self-fried eggs for bibimbap and wraps. A satisfying spread when you want both heat and mild pork.

We visited Imgane Nakji Bossam (임가네낙지보쌈) in Jinpyeong-dong, Gumi, for weekend lunch with the kids.

Mom and Dad were craving something spicy, so we could have the fire-grilled octopus full of smoky flavor while the kids had tender boiled pork. That settled our lunch menu, and off we went.

Imgane Nakji Bossam location and parking
The restaurant is near Jinpyeong Elementary School and Gumi Gangdong Hospital, so it was easy to find.
There are parking lines right in front of the restaurant for about two cars,

and if those are full, Simin Haengbok Parking Lot is diagonally across the street, which makes parking so convenient.

Wood-toned interior and spacious seating
The interior has a wood-toned look throughout, with clean, well-kept tables and chairs arranged neatly.

There are tables for four as well as wider seating made by joining several tables together, enough to accommodate groups. It is great for a family meal or dining with work colleagues, too.
The self-fried egg station
There is a self-fried egg station for guests to enjoy before or during their meal. One egg per person is free, and additional eggs are ₩500.

Anyone can cook one easily. The savory fried egg softens the heat of the spicy fire-grilled octopus, and it also makes a filling side for kids, so the whole family can enjoy it together.
Menu and spice-level choices
Imgane Nakji Bossam has a satisfying selection, from full meals to dishes for drinking and side dishes. You can choose among three spice levels: regular, spicy, and very spicy.

- Imgane Set (minimum 2 orders): ₩17,000 per person — abalone porridge, fire-grilled octopus, herbal boiled pork, and rice
- Fire-grilled octopus (minimum 2 orders): ₩12,000 per person — abalone porridge, fire-grilled octopus, and rice
- Nakji bossam: large ₩57,000 / small ₩37,000 — herbal boiled pork and stir-fried octopus
- Sides: yukjeon (pan-fried beef) ₩20,000 / octopus-shrimp pancake ₩10,000 / spicy beef kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup) ₩10,000
The two-person Imgane Set
Abalone porridge, bean sprout soup, and side dishes
The warm, smooth abalone porridge served before the meal and the clean, refreshing bean sprout soup got our appetites going. The neatly served basics—bean sprouts, salad, japchae (stir-fried glass noodles), garlic, chili peppers, and ssamjang (seasoned soybean paste)—were all fresh and perfect alongside the mains.

I especially loved the thoughtful detail that the complimentary water was not plain water but nutty, toasty barley tea. Every sip during the meal refreshed the palate.
The fire-grilled octopus and herbal boiled pork pairing
We ordered the two-person Imgane Set.

The fire-grilled octopus and herbal boiled pork that arrive as the mains are delicious on their own, but they are even better when combined in different ways to suit your taste.

I recommend dipping the long-simmered, tender and mild herbal boiled pork into the pungent-sweet garlic sauce. It really brings out the savory flavor.

Try piling spicy fire-grilled octopus, crisp bean sprouts, a fried egg from the self-service station, and plenty of fragrant seaweed flakes over a bowl of rice, then mixing it all together. The smoky sauce, savory egg, and crunchy sprouts come together so well that you will polish off the bowl in no time.
Place a slice of tender boiled pork and some spicy stir-fried octopus on a fresh cabbage leaf, add garlic or chili peppers as you like, and make one big wrap. The spicy flavor, mild pork, and crisp vegetables are in perfect harmony.
Why this was such a satisfying lunch spread
Starting with abalone porridge and bean sprout soup, then moving on to smoky fire-grilled octopus and herbal boiled pork, this course-style spread was very satisfying.

You can enjoy a substantial Korean meal course in the ₩10,000 range, so I strongly recommend it for lunch in Indong or Jinpyeong-dong. 100% willing to return! On our next visit, we plan to try the octopus-shrimp pancake and spicy beef kalguksu sides as well. If you are looking for nakji bossam in Gumi or love spicy Korean food with a smoky charred flavor, I definitely recommend stopping by.
