Daegu hair salon on Dongseong-ro: two-block layered cut at Miod

So get this — my hair somehow grew super long without me even noticing. At first I left it because it was good for styling with a flat iron and didn't bother me much, but everyone around me kept saying it was long, long, long (so it really must have been long). So I came straight here to get it cut.

The place I visited is Miod Hair Salon on Dongseong-ro!

Miod Hair Salon's location — 4th floor, right in the middle of Dongseong-ro

Miod Hair Salon is on the 4th floor of a building at 59 Dongseong-ro 3-gil, Jung-gu, Daegu. Honestly, the location is reeeally good. It's right smack in the middle of Dongseong-ro!

Go up to the 4th floor of the building and there's the salon!! I'd heard it was one of the best places for layered cuts in Daegu, so I decided to check it out myself hehe.

How spacious is the waiting area and interior?

As soon as you walk into Miod Hair Salon, you see the waiting area right away. It's really pleasant and spacious, which I liked a lot. I arrived about 10 minutes early and waited a bit!

And the interior is also super spacious! I was worried since a lot of salons have seats crammed together, but the spacing between seats here was wide, which I loved :-) In salon terms, this place is a real power-I (introvert), haha.

Shampoo room and restroom

Miod Hair Salon's shampoo room has 4 seats! The chairs are also suuuper comfortable haha.

And let me tell you how big the restroom is. It's spacious and pleasant enough that you could basically lie down and nap in there haha. Photos turn out really nicely too, so make sure to get your blow-dry done and take a mirror shot before you leave >_<

Filling out a client chart and the drink service

At Miod Hair Salon, the designer in charge comes over to fill out a simple client chart before starting! And it doesn't end after the chart — throughout the whole appointment she kept giving me solutions to my hair concerns and passed on every styling tip she had.

This Dongseong-ro salon, Miod Hair Salon, also gives you a drink on the house, and not in a paper cup — it's served just like at a regular café..🫶🏻🫶🏻

Before and after the two-block layered cut — how it differs from a regular layered cut

My hair before and after! Doesn't this look totally different right away? Yeah, I really should just come to the salon. Shame on me for putting this off for years out of laziness. All that messy, damaged hair got chopped right off!

I was originally going to go with a regular layered cut but ended up getting a two-block layered cut instead. What's a two-block layered cut? A regular layered cut has all the hair blend together seamlessly, while a two-block layered cut has a much bigger boundary line cut into it! It was my first time trying this style, so I was nervous...

The shampoo was also super refreshing. And once the cutting started, the designer kept looking pleased with her own work as she went along... which let me relax and enjoy the whole process. And here's the final result after the blow-dry!!!

It's been about a week since the cut and I'm still really happy with it...💜 At first I was worried about how I'd even style it with a flat iron, but she asked me how I usually do it and explained the method in great detail.
