We recently went on a family trip to Yangyang! Travelling with kids is fun, but (sob) you know the real healing for mom and dad is the late-night snack time after the kids fall asleep, right? So once ours were down, we searched for something to take back to the room, and there happened to be a famous Sol Beach Yangyang-area spot right near our lodging. It's a takeout specialist called Eosiljang that even resort guests go to, and when we went at night, lots of people were there picking up late-night food. The portions were generous and the fish really fresh, so I'm happy to introduce Eosiljang Sashimi Takeout (어실장 회포장), a Yangyang sashimi takeout favorite.
Where is Eosiljang Sashimi Takeout, and is parking easy?
Eosiljang Sashimi Takeout is a takeout and delivery shop at 18 Osan-gil, Sonyang-myeon, Yangyang-gun, Gangwon, South Korea, a one-minute drive from Sol Beach Yangyang resort. There's a big parking lot in front, so it's easy if you come by car. Hours are daily 15:00–22:00, but Monday to Thursday can change depending on the catch, so they advise calling to check.
It was late, but the sign was brightly lit so we found it right away without wandering. Put it in your GPS and it's only a one-minute drive from Sol Beach Yangyang.

It was around 8 p.m., and I was surprised to see lots of cars already lined up in the lot waiting for takeout. Clearly it's a popular late-night pick for people staying nearby and at Sol Beach Yangyang. And there's plenty of parking right in front, so it's no trouble to come by car.

What are the menu and prices at Eosiljang?
The signature mixed sashimi platter (모둠회) starts at ₩50,000 for two, with sizes for three and four people, and you can choose flounder or flounder + rockfish. Inside, the first thing I saw was the menu written on a chalkboard, and I liked that there's a separate single-person set for solo travelers. There are also sides like spicy fish bone stew, mulhoe (cold raw fish soup) and hoedeopbap (raw fish rice bowl), so the lineup is solid.

They're also running a Naver photo review event: write a review and they give you one abalone as a freebie, so take part and get it haha. And a notice next to it says opening hours can change depending on the catch, so it's best to call ahead before you visit.

It's a takeout shop, but is there somewhere to wait?
Eosiljang is a takeout and delivery shop, but there are tables inside where you can sit and wait. We had ordered by phone in advance but arrived a little early, so we waited. I thought there'd be no waiting space, but there was a table to sit comfortably, haha. So we sat and waited.

After a short wait, our mixed sashimi platter came out neatly packed. They kindly told us to carry it a certain way because the sea squirt juice can leak. Off to the room we go!

What comes in the Eosiljang mixed sashimi takeout?
Thick, chewy seasonal sashimi, plus fresh abalone and sea squirt in a generous spread
The Eosiljang mixed sashimi takeout came with thick-cut fish, seafood like abalone and sea squirt, garlic, chili peppers, pickled scallions (rakkyo) and fruit, wraps veggies, and a sauce package with chogochujang (spicy vinegar sauce), ssamjang (wrap sauce), soy sauce and wasabi. Back at the room I took it all out and set it up right away, and wow, it was packed so neatly that I was satisfied before even eating!

The main sashimi is cut thick and you can feel the freshness, and they also put in plenty of various seafood as sides.

Sea squirt and fresh abalone! And garlic, chili peppers, pickled scallions and fruit cocktail too. Isn't that a perfect late-night spread, hahaha. On top of that, it includes wraps veggies and a sauce package with chogochujang, ssamjang, soy sauce and wasabi.

How do the abalone and sea squirt taste?
The abalone that came with the platter was already cut into bite-size pieces on the shell. I tried it first, picking up a piece with chopsticks, and it was so crunchy! You know, that faint sweetness you taste the more you chew (sob). It was delicious.

Next, the sea squirt! I (sob) can't really eat sea squirt, so my dad had it. He really loves it. The moment he took a bite he said it was delicious with no fishy taste, and wished we'd bought more. It's a shame they don't sell it separately.

How was the sashimi itself at Eosiljang in Yangyang?
The sashimi was chewy with no fishy taste at all. With the seafood tasted, it was time for the main event! I picked up a thick slice and dipped it in my favorite chogochujang, and I understood why this is a Yangyang sashimi takeout favorite. I like flounder and rockfish, and it tasted like proof that sashimi eaten locally really is different.

It wouldn't be right without a wrap. On one big lettuce leaf I put sashimi, garlic, chili and ssamjang and wrapped it up nicely. The overall quality of the fish is so good that it tasted great however I ate it! It was a late-night snack the whole family enjoyed.

A tasty late-night snack wouldn't be right without a drink. The combo of drinks and mixed sashimi blew away the travel fatigue. It was the most memorable, fun late-night snack time of the whole trip.

Is Eosiljang worth recommending for sashimi takeout near Sol Beach?
Eosiljang, known as a Sol Beach Yangyang-area and sashimi takeout favorite, has plenty of parking in front and good-quality fish, so it's a place I'll probably crave again. The seafood was generous too, from the live abalone they gave as a freebie to the sea squirt full of ocean aroma. It satisfied our picky family! If you're looking for sashimi takeout near Sol Beach, I'd recommend Eosiljang.
