Chilgok, Daegu — Raichen Chilgok Branch, a Vietnamese food spot in Chilgok 3-jigu. Words and photos by Sinimom.

I'm someone who loves Vietnamese food! Pho, banh xeo, all the good stuff. If you think Daegu Vietnamese restaurant, one place instantly comes to mind — Raichen! And it's right in my neighborhood, haha, so good. Here's my review from a filling lunch with the set for two '-

This is the exterior of Raichen Chilgok Branch. It's on the first floor, right next to A Twosome Place. It's run by a Vietnamese owner who's very proud of serving authentic Vietnamese food, and it's a Chilgok spot with excellent reviews.

The vibe alone — Vietnam energy from the outside in -* I actually went to Nha Trang, Vietnam this year, but honestly... Raichen tastes better haha. This is one of my favorite spots in Chilgok 3-jigu. Trust me on this !!
Inside Raichen Chilgok Branch: window seats and the group table
Raichen Chilgok Branch has a bright, warm atmosphere. The Vietnamese conical hat (non la) shaped lamps over each table are cute, and there are separate window seats and a group table for 6 or more.

Raichen's bright and warm interior. Really pretty design, and the non la (conical hat) shaped lamps over each table are so cute. The owner and staff were super kind!

The window seats are super popular ') Lush green healing city view -! Total my-style aesthetic interior~*

There's also a group table further inside. Great for mom meetups with babies, or family dinners — for 6 or more, book ahead and enjoy a private meal :)

There's a self-serve bar. Pickled chili peppers and pickled onions, plus spoons, forks, and scissors ready for kids.
What comes with the 37,900 won Set A for two
Raichen Chilgok Branch's Set A for two is ₩37,900 and comes with Hanoi-style pho, bun cha (grilled pork with noodles), and banh xeo (savory Vietnamese pancake). Eating it for lunch with two people covered both taste and quantity at once.

We tried the set for two. Such an exciting moment haha. This is what I came here for ㅠㅠ This is exactly why people who've been to Raichen Chilgok once keep coming back lol. A generous spread of Hanoi pho, bun cha, and banh xeo.

Grabbing plenty from the self-serve bar haha. You can't skip this part!!
Banh xeo (Vietnamese savory crepe)

Banh xeo, one of my favorite things — Raichen is my go-to for banh xeo in Daegu! The egg crepe is super thin and crispy. Wrap it up with lettuce in dried rice paper and eat it rolled haha.

Look at how loaded the filling is! Plenty of crunchy bean sprouts, lots of shrimp and meat too. Wrap it in rice paper however you like and dip it in fish sauce — I go crazy for it ㅠㅠㅠ
Bun cha (grilled pork with rice noodles)

This one's bun cha! Honestly I don't usually like bun cha, but I'm the person whose taste changed after eating Raichen's bun cha! Chewy thin noodles with vegetables, dipped fully into the sauce loaded with meat — sweet, tangy, and so good.

Meatballs and fried spring rolls with that smoky charcoal aroma. Zero meaty smell, so even sensitive eaters would enjoy this. You can trust Raichen's bun cha ㅠㅠ The meat portion at Raichen Chilgok is especially generous lol.
Hanoi-style pho

The signature pho you can't skip at any Vietnamese restaurant! This is authentic Hanoi-style pho. The rich beef bone broth comes loaded with brisket.
The soft noodles pair perfectly with the chewy brisket, and the broth is so rich and deep it just hits the spot ㅠㅠ Pairs perfectly with a bite of banh xeo too!

There's chili sauce on the table ^,~ Drizzle it on for a sweet and spicy kick haha. The pho at Raichen Chilgok is a can't-skip dish that even kids eat happily!!
Would I go back to Raichen Chilgok Branch?

A spread I want to eat again just looking at it ㅠㅠ Seriously, this set covers both taste and quantity in one go!! Even the bun cha sauce is good enough to drink lol. Raichen, a Chilgok, Daegu favorite — a place I'd strongly recommend for a date or a meal out :)
