Cheonan morning noodle spot: tripe-loaded fresh kalmyeon, Yukdaejang

Today I'm reviewing a place that opened not too long ago — Yukdaejang! This is Baekseok-dong's go-to spot, Yukdaejang Cheonan Baekseok Branch. If you're a gukbap (soup and rice) killer, you have to check this place out~

Arriving at 10:30am: how busy was Yukdaejang Cheonan Baekseok Branch?

I got there a bit early. Since I visited at 10:30, there weren't many people yet, but once it passed 11, the crowds really poured in. I immediately understood why this is a Baekseok-dong favorite!!

They have baby chairs and a self-serve bar too. The self-serve bar was kept nice and clean. There are also tons of phone chargers — a place where you can eat without worrying about your battery.

Every dish is available for takeout and delivery!! Great for lunch when you want gukbap!! And for dinner, one of the signature dishes plus bossam and a hot pot is perfect as anju (drinking snacks) too!!

You can choose between yukgaejang, yukkalmyeon, or saeng-yukkalmyeon. Every yukgaejang lets you choose noodles or rice, so it's great that you can pick whichever you want!!

I ordered chadol yukgaejang and gopchang wangchang saeng-yukkalmyeon! Even for two people it came to under ₩30,000 — a really reasonable price~!

This noodle soup lived up to its name — doesn't the mountain of gopchang (beef tripe) piled in look so good?!

Inside were fresh noodles, and honestly the look reminded me of the sundubu-yukgaejang kalguksu I had in Gangneung. The broth looked super spicy, but it was less spicy than I expected — which I loved. The gopchang comes uncut, so you snip it with scissors into bite-sized pieces as you eat!!

Loaded with this much tripe, and even the fatty part of the tripe was packed full — this is the gopchang wangchang yukkalmyeon at Baekseok-dong's favorite, Yukdaejang Cheonan Baekseok Branch. No separate rice comes with it, just noodles, so if you're a noodle lover who also loves gopchang, order this without hesitation. It was better than the chadol yukgaejang!!

Once I cut it up, the portion looked even bigger. Generous portions and chewy noodles — I immediately understood why this place is so crowded, Baekseok-dong's favorite Yukdaejang Cheonan Baekseok Branch. The combo of gopchang + yukgaejang + kalguksu was so good~!

The chadol yukgaejang at Baekseok-dong's favorite Yukdaejang Cheonan Baekseok Branch also had plenty of brisket in it. Since it was morning, I felt like rice instead of noodles, so I ordered it with rice — eating a spicy, hearty gukbap really gave me energy!

Mixing the rice into the rich yukgaejang broth was genuinely spicy and refreshing — perfect for anyone hungover from drinking the night before? I usually only ever get sundae-gukbap or the usual hangover soups, but yukgaejang is really great too!!! I can't handle spice well but this was still so delicious!!!

There were also glass noodles inside, so you get plenty of those too, and topping it with brisket and mixing it into the rice is seriously delicious~~!

Would I return to Yukdaejang Cheonan Baekseok Branch? Final verdict

The green onions were thick and flavorful too! I'd heard Yukdaejang Cheonan Baekseok Branch was known for its yukgaejang, went to check it out, and came back genuinely satisfied. It's close to home too, and with parking so convenient, I definitely want to go back!!!! This is truly the Baekseok-dong spot I'd recommend to anyone looking for good food nearby!!

I think I'll be craving Baekseok-dong's favorite Yukdaejang Cheonan Baekseok Branch every lunchtime. Even in the hot summer, a spicy bowl really hits the spot, and the portions are so generous and filling — if you want a hearty lunch, I definitely recommend visiting!
