Long sausage bread at Steel Green Bakery, a four-story Cheonan café
In short
Steel Green Bakery is a four-story bakery café on Cheonheung 4-gil in Seonggeo-eup, Seobuk-gu, Cheonan. On a solo weekday afternoon visit, the order was a green berry einspänner (7,800 won), a bagel sando (8,000 won), long sausage bread (6,000 won) and soboro bread (2,000 won), with a look around every level from the first floor to the fourth-floor rooftop. Coffee at Steel Green Bakery is on the pricey side, but the different seating on each floor, the rooftop view and the cream-packed bagel sando made the visit well worth it.

This was a sponsored visit, but it's a café I genuinely want to recommend. Before I went, I was a little bothered by the coffee prices being on the higher side, but after visiting, I felt like it was worth every won. On a weekday afternoon, I visited Steel Green Bakery, a large Cheonan café in Seonggeo-eup that made me feel like I was on a trip.
+ If you go up one more level from the rooftop, there's a space you wouldn't expect. More on that below.

Steel Green Bakery hours, address and parking
Steel Green Bakery is open daily from 10:00 to 21:00, with last order at 20:30. It's located at 46 Cheonheung 4-gil, Seonggeo-eup, Seobuk-gu, Cheonan-si, Chungcheongnam-do.
I had to go a short way down an alley — it felt like 500 to 700 meters. Right when I started wondering if there could really be a café out here, a big four-story building appeared. There was a barrier at the parking lot entrance. Once inside, the parking space was really spacious, as befits a large Cheonan café.
There were separate spots for compact cars and for disabled parking, so there's no need to worry about parking.
Steel Green Bakery's exterior and garden: palm trees and a water fountain
From the moment I parked and walked toward the entrance, the landscaping caught my eye. It was so well maintained that I thought, the owner must really take care of this place.
There was a photo zone with the lettering "Steel Green," and after looking around the café, I felt like I understood the meaning behind the name. Everywhere was so lush and green that it felt like visiting a large riverside café somewhere scenic in Gangwon-do.
Big palm trees were planted, and right in front of the café, a water fountain shot up refreshingly through the greenery.
Watching the water spray dramatically was fun to look at, and I think kids would love it. You could really feel how nicely the owner had decorated the place.
Floor-by-floor guide to Steel Green Bakery, a large Cheonan café
- 1st floor - Bakery and drink order counter / many seats including group seating
- 2nd floor - Group tables and 2, 4, 6-person seats
- 3rd floor - Group tables plus sofas, window seats, and seats good for laptop work
- 4th floor - Rooftop. Good for kids to play and enjoy the view
Right at the entrance there was a floor guide. Even inside the elevator, each floor's mood was explained with photos, which I loved. At large cafés, I always end up curious about floors 2 through 4 and climb up to check them out, so knowing the vibe in advance made it much easier. I could feel the owner's thoughtfulness and sense of style.
First floor: ordering counter and bakery display

I claimed a seat on the 2nd floor first, then came back down to order on the 1st floor. The interior was lush and green yet cozy and modern. It felt like walking into an upscale café tucked in the forest.
Soft chandelier-like lighting hung overhead, adding to the atmosphere.
There were plenty of seats on the 1st floor too. There were about two long large tables, and each seat was quite spacious, making it good for group use as well. Many of the chairs were cushioned like sofas, so they were comfortable even for sitting a long time. A lot of cafés have nice atmospheres but hard wooden chairs that make it tough to stay long — Steel Green's chairs were all cushioned and comfortable, which I really liked.
What breads does Steel Green Bakery sell?

On the 1st floor display case, Steel Green Bakery had a really wide variety: milk bread, mont blanc, blueberry bread, soboro bread (crumble-topped bun), manju (sweet bean-filled bun), and salt bread.

Every single bread looked delicious. The one that caught my eye first was the long sausage bread.

I opened the case to grab a soboro bread, and the smell of the sausage bread was so good that I decided I had to try it too, so I bought that as well.

They also sold white rolls, cheesecake, and scones, plus sets that would make good gifts.

Steel Green mugs and tumblers are made in-house and sold there too, making them the kind of item you want to take home as a keepsake. Leftover bread from the previous day was sold at a random 50% discount.

I also liked that there was an oven and microwave available so you could warm up your bread.

They'd even set out stickers for a guestbook, which again showed the owner's sense of style.

The drink menu ranged from coffee to non-coffee options. Since they had a non-coffee sueppen, even someone like me who doesn't enjoy coffee much could order something without worry.
Visiting alone, I ordered a green berry sueppen for ₩7,800, a bagel sando for ₩8,000, long sausage bread for ₩6,000, and soboro bread for ₩2,000.
(The sando was sold on a separate display stand next to the register.) *You'll find the tasting notes further down below :)
Second and third floor seating: sofas, window seats and laptop seats
The 2nd and 3rd floors of Steel Green Bakery had an overall cozy, modern interior. On the 2nd floor, the chairs came in a pretty color mix of green, ivory, and a drop of pale pink.
Right in the center, indoor landscaping was well done, giving a cozy feeling like stepping into a small botanical garden in the forest.
Beside the area you could climb up to, a small fountain was flowing too.
Seating ranged from 6-person group tables to 2- and 4-person seats, making it easy to sit according to group size. Soft K-pop BGM played, and the overall mood was modern and sleek; since it was a quiet weekday afternoon, it was easy to stay a while quietly.

Every floor was well stocked with water, wifi, and napkins, and there were bags ready for packing bread to go.

On the 2nd floor there was also a staircase connecting down to the 1st floor, which was convenient.
The 3rd floor had a different vibe from the 2nd. There were sofa-style seats good for chatting comfortably, wooden desks good for laptop work, and window seats looking out — all laid out to choose from depending on the situation. Once again, the owner's sense of style showed through.
Kids' chairs were set up on every floor too, so it seemed like a good place to visit with children.
The fourth-floor rooftop view and the glass-floor photo zone above it
As soon as you step onto Steel Green Bakery's 4th-floor rooftop, the view opens up wide and is great for taking in the surroundings.
A factory was visible off to the side, but the view combining sky, mountains, and rice paddies was really pretty.
A structure shaped like a turtle ship served as shade, so it seemed like a good spot to sit even on strong-sun days.
The floor was covered in green artificial turf, and there were rocking chairs and terrace chairs, giving off a vacation-like feeling. K-pop playing from the speakers blended with the view to add a romantic mood.
There were also kids' chairs and tables, showing consideration for children.
And that space I mentioned earlier — if you go up one more level from the rooftop, there's a photo zone with a glass floor you can see straight through. I was a bit scared, so I only made it up to the stairs.
Even looking down from the stairs, the view was high enough to enjoy. Since it was a weekday with no one around, I lingered a long while — I imagine it would be even better in spring or fall.
Green berry einspänner, 7,800 won: how does it taste?

Steel Green Bakery's green berry sueppen had matcha powder decorated prettily on top of the cream, with strawberry syrup layered at the very bottom.
Mixed well, the cream was soft and sweet, and the strawberry syrup was pleasantly sweet too. The slightly bitter matcha powder blended nicely with the milk cream for a pleasant flavor. Best of all, since it's non-coffee, it was easy to drink without worry.
Bagel sando, 8,000 won: the cream is the best part

Steel Green Bakery's bagel sando seemed to have twice the amount of cream compared to sandos elsewhere, so it caught the eye the moment I saw it. The bagel was also pretty sizable. Taking a bite, the moist cream made it a flavor that made me happy. It was so good that even though I'd already had a satisfying dinner at home, I finished the whole thing on the spot, haha. It felt less like a sando and more like a delicious slice of cake.

The fresh cream was sweet but not heavy, and moist and soft. The cream soaked into the chewy bagel so much I couldn't tell if I was chewing bread or cream. It's a bit pricey, but a flavor I'd want to buy again.
Long sausage bread, 6,000 won: the best sausage bread of the year

Eaten fresh at the café, Steel Green Bakery's long sausage bread was the best sausage bread I've had recently. It had a slightly spicy sauce brushed on, and the pastry layers were still visible, giving it great texture. It tasted much better to me than sausage bread from well-known bakery chains.

It was long and had a generous portion, so ₩6,000 felt quite reasonable.
Why the bread at Steel Green Bakery tastes so good

I looked up why Steel Green Bakery's bread is so delicious, and it turns out everything is made fresh daily using top-quality ingredients. Apparently the baker handles every step personally, from mixing the dough to fermenting and baking. That's probably why so many people, like me after tasting it once, keep coming back to buy it again. I'm definitely planning to come back, if only for the sausage bread, haha.
Even the restrooms show the owner's attention to detail
The restroom had hand wash and hand lotion set out. My hands tend to get dry, so I always need to apply hand cream after washing — and there it was, ready to use. (Kudos to the owner's thoughtfulness and attention to detail.) (I keep using the words "thoughtfulness" and "sense of style" throughout this post, but that's genuinely how much care I could feel everywhere, haha.)
When I packed up my bread to leave, the plastic packing bags were folded neatly and ready to use, making it easy to pack everything on my way out.
Steel Green Bakery visit tips and final verdict
Steel Green Bakery had a different mood on every floor, so you can choose a seat depending on the purpose of your visit. It's good for resting quietly alone, for a date with family or a partner, and with so many seats, it seems great for gatherings too. There were plenty of things kids would enjoy as well.
I visited on a weekday afternoon, and since it was quiet, I got to stay relaxed and unhurried. The large parking lot also made it easy to visit by car. Among the large Cheonan cafés I've been to, this ranks in my top five. If you're looking for a café in Seonggeo, or a stylish bakery café in Cheonan, I'd recommend it.
A large Cheonan café with a lush, garden-like atmosphere, a 4th-floor rooftop view, seating that changes floor to floor, and a cream-packed bagel sando — all thoroughly satisfying.
You can feel the owner's careful attention everywhere, making it a place I'd recommend for family, couples, or groups alike.
