Pork cutlet and udon set in Yongsan: Yongsan Donkatsu Onjeong

In short

Yongsan Donkatsu Onjeong Gyeongyang Sikdang, Yongsan branch is a small pork cutlet restaurant about an eight-minute walk from Hyochang Park Station in Yongsan, Seoul. I ordered the udon and gyeongyang donkatsu set and liked the mild sauce and chewy udon noodles. The standalone pork cutlet comes with two large pieces, which may be too much for lighter eaters.

What did the udon and gyeongyang donkatsu set taste like?

I started with the udon and gyeongyang donkatsu set I ordered. The mushroom soup was mild and creamy, making it nice to have before the meal. I also liked that it contained quite a lot of button mushrooms.

The pork cutlet arrived with sauce spread over the top. The meat was neither very thick nor too thin, which felt right for me. I also liked the mild flavor of the sauce.

The udon noodles were chewy and savory. There were generous toppings, including yubu (seasoned fried tofu), fish cake, and scallions, which made it enjoyable to eat together.

How large is the standalone gyeongyang donkatsu?

The gyeongyang donkatsu we ordered separately came with two large pieces. I felt it could be too much to finish for someone with a smaller appetite.
