On a weekday lunch I visited BAS Burger Euljiro Branch, near Euljiro 3-ga Station. I tried the double bacon cheeseburger with a thick patty and the Hawaiian burger with sweet pineapple. You get unlimited potato chips and can add toppings to taste, so it looked great for a hearty office-worker lunch in Euljiro, and for a beer in the evening too. It's a handmade burger spot I'd recommend :)

Inside BAS Burger Euljiro Branch: atmosphere and seating
Thanks to the interior and lighting, the inside felt like being in New York, with both table seats and bar tables. Groups of up to 20, takeout, delivery and reservations are reportedly available too.
When I walked in, there were still quite a few open seats.

Within 5 minutes of sitting down, the seats filled up with Euljiro office workers heading out for lunch. It has the relaxed vibe of a handmade burger place, and with tables and bar tables, everyone from solo diners to coworkers was using it.
Weekday lunch is especially busy, so if you want a relaxed meal, I recommend arriving before 11:30 or avoiding the lunch peak.

It seemed like a place for a quick, filling lunch by day, and by night a place to relax with a beer, a handmade burger and chips.

Unlimited potato chips and self-serve lemon water
Right across from the counter, potato chips are set out and you can take as many as you like, which I loved. I was curious about the chips, but I wanted to focus on the burgers and sweet potato fries, so I didn't grab any. The water is lemon water, and it's self-serve.
BAS Burger Euljiro Branch menu: extra toppings and set meals
At BAS Burger Euljiro Branch you pick a basic burger and can add toppings like patties, bacon, cheese and egg, or choose one of the shop's set menus if combinations feel difficult. We ordered two set menus with sparkling water, and it came to ₩30,100.

At BAS Burger Euljiro Branch you can choose a basic burger or add various toppings to taste. Being able to change the build to suit yourself, from patties and bacon to cheese and egg, felt like exactly the charm of a handmade burger place. But on a first visit, it can be hard to know which toppings to add, right? If the combinations feel difficult, I recommend choosing one of the set menus the shop has put together.
- Double bacon cheeseburger + egg + drink
- Hawaiian burger + sweet potato fries/ranch + drink
- Total ₩30,100
My companion and I ordered from the pre-set menus: the double bacon cheeseburger + egg + drink (sparkling water) and the Hawaiian burger + sweet potato fries/ranch + drink (sparkling water).
How do you order at BAS Burger Euljiro Branch?
You order by table device, and when the pickup notice appears, you collect your food yourself at the pickup zone. Just tell the staff which sauces you want when you pick up.

After ordering on the table device, go to the pickup zone when the pickup notice appears. You can tell the staff which sauces you want.

Here are the double bacon cheeseburger and the Hawaiian burger we ordered.

My companion likes rich, hearty flavors, so they got the double bacon cheeseburger with egg, while I prefer sweet-and-salty, so I chose the Hawaiian burger.

Honestly, I ordered as if in a trance because there were sweet potato fries instead of regular fries. Unlike savory potato, the sweet potato sticks were fried up so appetizingly that my mouth watered.
Determined to avoid sugary juice as much as possible, both my companion and I went with sparkling water this day.
How was the double bacon cheeseburger with egg?
The double bacon cheeseburger at BAS Burger Euljiro Branch is a hefty build of a thick patty with bacon and cheese, a good match for people who like a rich, meaty burger. Adding the egg brought the richness of the yolk and made the flavor even fuller.
First, as the name suggests, the double bacon cheeseburger impressed me at first glance with how hefty and filling it looked. With bacon and cheese on a thick patty, it's a menu item that fans of deep meaty flavor will enjoy.

Adding an egg brought the soft, rich taste of the yolk and made the overall flavor even fuller. With the thick patty at the center and the salty bacon and cheese blending in, it suited a filling Euljiro office-worker lunch well. If you usually enjoy burgers with strong meaty flavor or loaded toppings, I'd recommend the double bacon cheeseburger.

Hawaiian burger with pineapple: love it or leave it?
The Hawaiian burger at BAS Burger Euljiro Branch is a sweet-and-salty burger with a patty and pineapple, and the pineapple cut through the patty's richness so I never got tired of it. But if you're not used to fruit in savory food, I'd start with a basic burger or cheeseburger.
The Hawaiian burger I chose has a patty and pineapple together. Pineapple on a burger can divide people depending on taste, but if you like sweet and salty together, it's worth trying once.

Between the savory, salty patty, I could taste the pineapple's distinctive sweet and fresh flavor, so it felt relatively light all the way through. The pineapple's freshness cut through the patty's richness, so I never really got tired of it until the end.

If you like sweet-and-salty combinations or want a handmade burger that's a bit different from usual, the Hawaiian burger seems like a good choice. On the other hand, if you're not used to fruit in your food, I'd suggest starting with something more familiar, like a basic burger or cheeseburger.

Sweet potato fries with ranch: worth choosing over the chips?
The sweet potato fries I picked as a side were sweeter than regular fries, so they were great alternated with the salty burger, and dipping them in ranch added a savory note. Even with unlimited chips available, they're worth choosing if you want to focus on a side.
The sweet potato fries I chose as a side were nice to eat between bites of the burger. Their sweetness is stronger than regular fries, so alternating them with the salty burger gave me a proper sweet-and-salty combo.

Dipped in the ranch sauce that came with them, the sweetness of the sweet potato picked up a smooth, savory flavor, making them even richer. There are unlimited chips, but if you're like us and want to focus on the burger plus a separate side, choosing the sweet potato fries is one way to go!
BAS Burger Euljiro Branch: final verdict
BAS Burger Euljiro Branch filled up with office workers as soon as lunchtime started, so I could really feel its popularity in Euljiro. What stood out most on a first visit was that you can top handmade burgers with thick patties to taste and enjoy unlimited chips. That said, rather than filling up on chips, we focused on the burgers and sweet potato fries and really enjoyed the handmade burger flavor.
At lunch it's a good place for Euljiro office workers who want a quick, filling meal, and in the evening it looked like a casual space for chatting with friends or coworkers over beer, burgers and chips. If you're looking for a thick-patty handmade burger near Euljiro 3-ga Station, or a place for an after-work beer, check out BAS Burger Euljiro Branch :)
