Haengbokhan Udon Gage Sinjeongnegeori Station Branch is just steps away from Exit 1 of Sinjeongnegeori Station.

The interior has a strong retro vibe, with tables that feel just like old elementary school desks! Totally nostalgic, haha.

And that fan, lol — I thought it was just a prop, but it actually works? Feels like something straight out of my parents' generation.

This Sinjeong-dong restaurant has plenty of seating and a spacious layout that makes dining comfortable, plus good natural light and open views outside so it never feels cramped. Great for eating with kids, and perfect for nearby office workers grabbing lunch too!

Haengbokhan Udon Gage menu prices and the self-serve side dish bar

Their most famous dish, udon, was 8,000 won per bowl, and aside from the drink-pairing items, nearly everything was under 10,000 won — very affordable.

There were plenty of menu options, but photos made everything easy to browse, and ordering from the table made things convenient.

Basic side dishes are available from a self-serve bar, and they had thoughtful touches like kids' chairs, hair ties, and kids' utensils on hand.

Honest review: jumbo pork cutlet, soba and jeyuk deopbap shared by two

Two of us, three menu items — demolished. Isn't that about standard when you're at a casual diner like this? Haha.

First up, the nostalgic jumbo pork cutlet. The hot udon broth on the side helped settle the stomach.

The jumbo donkatsu tasted exactly like you'd expect — sweet, rich sauce poured generously over it, the kind of flavor kids would love. And it was still crispy. The portion was generous too, easy to share, and I'd definitely recommend it as a lunch option.

Since it's still hot during the day, I figured cold soba would be better than another bowl of hot udon, so we ordered Haengbokhan Udon Gage's soba. Clean, light broth and noodles that paired perfectly with the donkatsu, like they were meant to be a set!! Highly recommend this combo if you like that kind of pairing!

The jeyuk bap (spicy pork rice bowl) had more meat than rice, packed with cheongyang chili peppers for a spicy kick that was seriously good. It was a bit too spicy for me, but addictive enough that I couldn't stop eating — total Korean soul food status confirmed!! There was so much sauce and meat that I actually ran out of rice before I finished — a must-try menu item at this Sinjeong-dong restaurant.
