A Seoulsup soufflé café instead of cake for a birthday date
It was my birthday on our Seoulsup date day, so instead of cake we went to 5to7 Seongsu Main Branch, a soufflé specialty dessert café. Happy birthday to me~ haha. Shouldn't I be eating cake on my birthday?! Well, lots of people have birthdays in October, so I'd already had plenty of cake 🎂 🍰 There are so many dessert cafés in Seongsu, so we said let's keep it simple, and that's how we ended up at this soufflé café in Seoulsup ha.

If we were going to have a soufflé, we wanted a proper one, so we went to a soufflé specialist that has been invited to Tokyo and Hong Kong for pop-up events and has been featured on TV several times ha.

What kind of dessert is a soufflé?
A soufflé is a French dish made by mixing various ingredients into meringue and baking it in the oven 🇫🇷 There are so many kinds of desserts that I figured some of you might wonder, what's a soufflé?!! haha

Where is 5to7 Seongsu Main Branch, and where do you park?
5to7 Seongsu Main Branch is about a 300 m walk from Seoulsup Station. There's no building parking lot, so nearby public parking lots are the way to go.
- Seoulsup public parking lot: ₩150 per 5 minutes
- Seongdong-gu Comprehensive Center parking lot: ₩300 per 5 minutes

What are the interior and seats like?
The ceilings are high so it doesn't feel stuffy, and the interior looks classy. If you come early, you can get a window seat with a forest view!! There's also an outdoor terrace, so there are quite a lot of tables.

You pick a seat on the 1st or 2nd floor first and then order, and since it's an open kitchen, you can watch the desserts being made with your own eyes. It's a dessert café, yet there was no soufflé in the showcase, which puzzled me. But 5to7 makes it the moment you order 👍

What soufflé menu does 5to7 have?
The soufflés at 5to7 Seongsu Main Branch come in so many kinds depending on the season: mangosteen soufflé, 🍓 strawberry soufflé, 🥭 mango soufflé, ube soufflé, pearl cream brûlée soufflé, tiramisu soufflé, matcha soufflé and more. The fruit soufflés use seasonal fruit, so they'd probably be different every time. To go with the soufflé, they sell ☕️ 🍵 coffee, of course, plus tea and ades.

What we ordered on the birthday, and the prices
- Fig soufflé ₩22,000
- Dutch americano ₩6,000
- Passion fruit ade ₩8,000

How did the fig soufflé taste, and how big was it?
The fig soufflé at 5to7 is so pretty it's a shame to cut it~ Taste matters, but eating with your eyes is fun too, and pretty things taste better, right? ^^ Since the dessert is this pretty, even sloppy photos come out nice haha
At dessert cafés the food is usually tasty but the portions are so small that you're left wanting more, but at 5to7 Seongsu Main Branch the portion was generous.

The soufflé pancake is stacked two layers high with cream piled on top in a big swoosh~ so it looks like a pretty cake, doesn't it?! haha Honestly, this is a cake, it's just a pancake lol 🥞 🥞 It was perfect as a birthday cake substitute.

What I especially liked is that 5to7 doesn't keep desserts in a showcase but makes them right after you order, so you get a soufflé that's warm and fluffy ^^ Because it's made on the spot, you can really taste the nutty flavor and smell the aroma, and it's so airy and soft that it melts in your mouth >.<

I was very satisfied with everything: the looks, the soft, cloud-like texture and the flavor. When you want a handmade soufflé, I recommend a proper one at 5to7 Seongsu Main Branch, a soufflé pancake dessert café ^^
