If you're looking for clean, tidy Korean food that's easy to eat with your parents, I'd recommend Geumdeungeo Dalseo Branch! Golden wood-fired mackerel as the centerpiece, plus a whole spread of banchan and hot-pot rice — this Daegu hanjeongsik (Korean set-meal) spot really filled us up.

It's right in front of you as soon as you step off the elevator on the 3rd floor, so it's easy to find.
The interior was clean and calm overall. Seats were divided into separate spaces, and there were also room-type sections. Plus, you can lower the electric blinds for a fully private meal — I'd recommend it for group gatherings too!

Lap blankets for chilly guests and a microwave for warming baby food were both on hand — it felt like a hanjeongsik restaurant that really thought things through!

Geumdeungeo Dalseo Branch menu and what we ordered
The signature menu at Geumdeungeo Dalseo Branch is the Geumdeungeo full course! We had the mackerel hot-pot rice set plus the flounder yukjeon set, and added jeyuk (stir-fried pork) on top — the portions were generous.
Table setting and the self-serve bar
The set came neatly laid out with salad, japchae (glass noodle stir-fry), namul (seasoned vegetables), kimchi, cucumber salad and more. It wasn't just a lot of dishes for the sake of it — each one was fun to pick at, and I'd already gone through a full bowl of rice before the main fish even arrived.
The glossy hot-pot rice had grains that were moist yet fluffy. After scooping out the rice, you pour in hot water to enjoy the nurungji (scorched rice) — it kept the meal satisfying right to the end.
How do the wood-fired mackerel and jeyuk taste?
The main mackerel came out golden brown from the wood-fired oven. The surface was glossy and crisp, and when I pulled the flesh apart, it wasn't dry at all — moist inside, with barely any fishy smell. Piling the thick flesh onto rice or wrapping it in gim (seaweed) brought out the savory flavor even more.
The jeyuk (stir-fried pork) had a spicy-sweet sauce with a subtle smoky char, and eating it with the shredded scallions on top kept it clean without any greasiness. The pairing of mild mackerel and spicy jeyuk worked really well — I'd recommend adding it if you want a meat dish alongside.

There was also a Naver receipt review event, along with small games like dice stacking and a 7-second challenge. It's not just a place to eat and leave — these little games while waiting or paying were fun to join in on.
After the meal: rice cake, drinks and banchan to take home
Rice cake came out after the meal, which was nice to eat while chatting, and on the way out at the register there was a variety of drinks and coffee ready — a perfectly tidy dessert to finish things off!
There are even ice cups set aside separately, so I'd recommend taking a cool drink to go!!
