Kids' café buffet with unlimited beer event at Kuu Kuu, Nowon

I was looking for somewhere to eat out with the kids and ended up back at Kuu Kuu in Nowon after a while. There are plenty of menu items kids love and enough variety for adults too, so I already thought it'd make a solid family dining spot — but this visit I found out there's also a kids' café space to play in, which made it even better.

What's the atmosphere like?

Walking in, the whole place is done up in natural wood and white tones, giving it a clean, warm feeling. It's not too dark or cluttered, so it was comfortable to eat as a family, and even with the kids along it never felt like a hassle. The space itself is bright and tidy, so photos came out looking nice too.

If you're bringing kids: the kids' café space

The biggest advantage for anyone visiting with kids is probably the kids' café space. Kids get bored fast once they finish eating, so having a place for them to play right alongside the meal meant the parents could eat much more at ease. While the kids were off having fun, the adults could enjoy good food and actually talk — perfect for a family outing.

Menu lineup and upgraded sushi

You can't talk about Kuu Kuu without mentioning the sheer variety of food. From sushi to rolls, salads, fried dishes, meat and desserts, there's enough on offer in one place to satisfy both kids and adults.

What really caught my eye this time was the upgraded sushi. The halibut sushi and salmon sushi have been upgraded, and the shrimp sushi has too, so sushi lovers should be even happier now. Getting to try a little of everything is really the biggest appeal of a buffet.

Raw salmon sashimi

There's also a newly launched raw salmon sashimi. It's available at weekday dinner and on weekends and holidays, so salmon fans should keep that in mind. It has a totally different feel from salmon sushi, so if you like salmon, it's definitely worth trying.

Smoked duck

Smoked duck is also new, and again it's available at weekday dinner and on weekends and holidays. After eating nothing but sushi for a while, you start craving something warm or meaty, so having smoked duck on hand made the meal feel much more varied.

All-day lamb chops

Lamb chops were also newly launched this time, and I liked that they're available all day. Since it's not limited to a specific time slot, anyone visiting for weekday lunch can enjoy them too — good to know.

Marble ice cream the kids loved

With kids in tow, dessert can't be skipped. There's marble ice cream available at lunch, which the kids especially loved. After eating enough of the meal, picking out ice cream got them really excited. Kids tend to spend a lot of time at the dessert corner at a buffet anyway, and the marble ice cream made it even more fun.

Unlimited draft beer event

One perk I personally found fun was the unlimited draft beer event. Writing a review gets you unlimited draft beer for ₩5,900, with Terra and Kelly on tap. How was it as a family meal?

When eating out with kids, the variety of food matters, but so does how comfortably the kids can spend their time. On that front, Kuu Kuu Nowon felt especially well-suited to families — you get sushi, sashimi, meat, fried dishes and desserts all in one place, while the kids play in the kids' café space.

On weekday dinners or weekends and holidays, you can also enjoy raw salmon sashimi and smoked duck, and lamb chops are available all day, so it's worth planning around your visit time. At lunch, marble ice cream is also available, which was a welcome bonus visiting with kids.

Overall, with its clean natural wood and white interior, wide variety of food, upgraded sushi menu, and newly launched raw salmon sashimi, smoked duck and lamb chops, Kuu Kuu Nowon offered plenty of choice and made for a satisfying family meal.
