Today I visited Pasta Go Hongdae Branch, a really good-value Hongdae pasta spot currently offering an extra 20% discount for both dine-in and takeout. The new mala pasta was genuinely delicious, and since the set menu lets you try several dishes at once, it's a great choice for a date course or for a solo diner too.

How to get there from Hongik University Station

Exit Hongik University Station's AREX exit 6 or 7 and walk about 300m, and inside the residential area near Gyeongui Line Forest Park you'll spot the ivory-colored building — Pasta Go Hongdae Branch, a Hongdae pasta restaurant, is on the 2nd floor.

Interior and seating

The interior is cute, with white tones and pops of color. There are plenty of seats and a full glass wall, so it doesn't feel cramped. Delivery-focused restaurants often skip a dining hall, but this place has hall seating, which makes me feel more reassured about hygiene.

A cute two-person table. A character frame that matches the pink color really stands out.

The kitchen

Deeper inside the hall, you can see the clean kitchen right away — apparently this place is known for delivery, since delivery orders kept pouring in nonstop. Honestly, if a place like this existed in my neighborhood, I'd probably order all the time because it's such good value. It's a shame there isn't a pasta place like this near me.

What's in the solo set

I ordered two solo sets, and each came with pasta, morning bread, one side dish, and a drink — generous portions and a clean presentation, which was satisfying.

The set menu offers a wide range of pasta choices; this time I added the new mala rosé pasta and swapped the default fries for gorgonzola pizza and seasoned fries.

Mala rosé pasta

This was my first time trying mala pasta, and it was delicious — the spicy mala flavor blended really well with the thick, creamy sauce. The mala spiciness cuts right through the cream's richness, so it feels like something you could eat often without getting sick of it. Why didn't anyone think of combining mala and cream sooner? I'd love to try recreating this recipe at home.

Toowoomba cream pasta

The toowoomba cream pasta has a nicely thick, creamy flavor. The sauce is generous and hearty, which makes it feel perfect for a brunch dish.

Gorgonzola pizza

Instead of the default fries side, I upgraded to the gorgonzola pizza — the crispy texture combined with the nutty almonds, cheese, and honey is really good 👍

Seasoned fries

The freshly fried fries are dusted with a cheese powder like Lotteria's seasoned fries — they're just salty enough, and dipping them in ketchup makes them even better. Overall the composition is great, and with such good value for the price, Pasta Go Hongdae Branch, this Hongdae pasta restaurant, seems bound to be popular.
