Near Icheon Terminal, packed even on a weekday evening
I was looking for dinner in Icheon and ended up at Jeongsiljangne Ppalgan Gogi (정실장네 빨간고기)! It's right near Icheon Terminal, so it was easy to find and convenient to get to.
I went around 6pm on a weekday, and when I first walked in there were still some seats open. But by the time I finished eating, the place was almost completely full! Seeing how busy it gets even on a weekday evening, it seems like a pretty popular pork belly restaurant in Icheon.

If you're from Icheon you probably already know this place~ it's over on the food alley side!

I'd been to Jeongsiljangne's bar before too, and this time they'd opened this new 'Ppalgan Gogi' (red meat) restaurant. So it felt even more familiar!
Nine round tables, and storage space under the chairs
Inside there were about 9 tables~ they're round, so with a group of people sitting in a circle it's easy to see everyone's face, and you can also store your things under the chairs, so you can eat without your bag picking up the smell of meat~

What we ordered and how much it cost
We ordered red raw pork belly, red donggeurangttaeng, plus udon and a Cass beer. The red raw pork belly was ₩16,000 per serving, the red donggeurangttaeng was ₩15,000, the udon was ₩4,000, and the Cass was ₩5,000.
What I liked here was that all the meat menus are based on 200g! These days some pork belly places feel a bit stingy with the portion size per serving, but at 200g the amount felt pretty generous.
Once you order the meat, they grill the red-marinated raw pork belly for you — it's sliced thin, so it cooks fast, and since the staff grill it for you, it's easy to just sit back and eat.
Even the basic egg roll comes standard!
And personally, one thing I really liked was the egg roll. It was listed on the menu as an extra item, so I thought I might need to order it separately, but it actually came out as a basic side dish.
I love egg rolls, so just having this as a basic side made me weirdly happy haha. Popping a bit of egg roll while eating meat went really well together, and overall the side dish spread was solid.

Trying the red donggeurangttaeng properly
With the red donggeurangttaeng, I was curious at first what the marinade would taste like, but once it was grilled it looked really appetizing. I like meat grilled a little crispy, so I let it cook a bit longer, and even the slightly charred parts were surprisingly tasty.
They also gave a really generous amount of perilla leaves and lettuce, so it was great for wrapping up a piece of meat as a lettuce wrap. It's always a bit disappointing when the wrap greens run low, but here they came out plentiful from the start, which I loved.

Wait, but I was surprised by how much there was! Genuinely so good,,

I ended up eating a total of 3 servings, and grilling one serving at a time meant the pan got burnt pretty quickly. I'm the shy type who can't really ask for things to be changed,, but the staff kept an eye on things and swapped the pan three times..
Red pork belly (200g, ₩16,000)

The red raw pork belly was just the same — same marinade! But it was so thin that we were bound to burn it,, so they grilled it for us again.. It seemed like they normally don't grill pork neck for you, only the pork belly~

It was bone-in pork belly, and you know that part is supposed to be the tastiest, right? Haha. The bone came off cleanly without being a hassle, so it was even more enjoyable to eat!
The stew that came on the house
They also gave us a stew on the house, though I'm not sure if it's normally included by default..! On the menu, the kimchi jjigae was ₩8,000~ Still, it was nice to have a stew alongside the meat, made the meal feel more substantial.

It came out bubbling hot in a stone pot, which was great as a palate cleanser before digging into the meat~
The udon that surprisingly stuck with me
Udon, not even ramyeon, on the menu!?! I love udon noodles, so I ordered it right away!

Definitely order the udon too! It was only ₩4,000 so it felt like a low-risk order, and it turned out way better than expected. I thought it would be a plain udon, but it came topped with ssukgat (crown daisy greens) and fried tofu, and the warm broth with that ssukgat aroma went really well eaten in between bites of meat.
Eating only meat can get a bit greasy after a while, but a sip of the udon broth fixed that perfectly. I went there for the meat, but honestly this udon is what stuck with me the longest afterward.
Recommended if you're looking for pork belly in Icheon! Plus a kind owner~!
Jeongsiljangne Ppalgan Gogi was great because of the generous portions, and having the meat grilled for us made eating easy. The red raw pork belly was thin so it cooked fast, and grilled slightly crispy it was delicious; the perilla leaves and lettuce were plentiful too, great for wraps~!
The basic egg roll was also a nice touch, and ordering the udon on top made the meal feel filling. Above all, I visited around 6pm on a weekday and the place was fully packed by the time I left, so it clearly draws a lot of people looking for pork belly in Icheon.
If you're looking for a good restaurant near Icheon Terminal or a pork belly place in Icheon, Jeongsiljangne Ppalgan Gogi is worth a stop. Especially if you're after Icheon pork belly or an Icheon Korean restaurant, it's a solid spot where you can eat plenty of meat and get a full meal in.
I'd love to come back next time and try other menu items! The owner was also so kind — I felt taken care of the whole meal. Seeing them try to look after us in little ways made the visit stick with me even more..
