I visited Sin Yeongung Cheonggukjang Haemulttukbaegi Seongseo Moda Outlet branch in Seongseo, Daegu, for seafood jjim. I ordered the medium seafood jjim with fried rice, and the amount and texture of the seafood stayed with me.

Where is it, and is parking convenient?

The restaurant is on the first floor at 27 Seongseogongdan-ro 15-gil, Dalseo-gu, Daegu. It is directly across from Seongseo Second Public Parking Lot, so it was convenient to park and go inside. It is near Seongseo Shopping World, making it a convenient stop for a meal after shopping. The hours listed in the original post are 10:00–22:00.

Is it crowded on weekday lunch breaks? Are there group seats?

The interior was more spacious than I expected, but it was already full when I visited during a weekday lunch break. There was also a wait at lunchtime, so I felt it would be better to arrive a little early.

I could freely take side dishes from the self-service station. The folding partitions can be removed to create one large space, which can reportedly accommodate about 40 people. It seems suitable for dining together as a group.

The octopus in the seafood jjim was prepared into easy-to-eat pieces, which made it convenient to eat.

Adding fried rice after the seafood jjim left me very full. Even the medium size provided enough seafood to pick through and enjoy.

Is the seafood jjim very spicy? How was the seafood texture?

The red sauce made it look spicy, but it was not very spicy for my taste. The seasoning was mild enough that I could eat just the bean sprouts and seafood without rice, and the sauce had soaked evenly into the seafood and vegetables.

There was plenty of seafood as well as bean sprouts. I could have filled up just by picking out the seafood.

Plentiful seafood served with bean sprouts

The octopus and other seafood did not taste fishy or feel tough. The tender seafood went well with the crisp bean sprouts, and the shellfish had plump meat with a pleasantly springy texture.

There were shrimp, octopus, scallops, and other seafood, so it was fun choosing what to eat. The octopus became chewier the longer I ate it, and the well-seasoned sauce had a spicy, savory flavor.

How much did the fried rice cost, and how much was there?

The fried rice was marked as ₩5,000, so at first I thought that was the price for one serving. It was actually ₩5,000 for 2–3 servings. The remaining seafood was set aside separately.

I was surprised by how much fried rice there was. They took the pan to the kitchen and stir-fried it, and it came back nicely cooked and tasty.

The fried rice was spicy but not harsh. The seafood flavor had worked into the sauce and vegetables, and the minari and seaweed flakes on top paired well with it. Eating the fried rice after the seafood jjim made for a filling meal.
