Suwon pork neck BBQ grilled three times in Ingye-dong: Jipbul Taebaek
In short
Jipbul Taebaek Suwon Ingye Branch is a straw-fire Korean BBQ restaurant on Nahyeseok-gil in Ingye-dong, Suwon, where the pork is pre-seared twice over straw fire and then grilled a third time at the table by staff. Pork neck and pork belly were both ordered, and the leaner, chewier pork neck was the favourite, followed by tteoksam (rice cake grilled on top of the meat), a spicy stew and a naengmyeon (cold noodle) finish. Since the staff do the grilling, Jipbul Taebaek is an easy pick for a work dinner or a group gathering.

Why Jipbul Taebaek is an Ingye-dong favourite for pork neck

I was in Ingye-dong recently and stumbled on a really solid BBQ place!

It's called Jipbul Taebaek Suwon Ingye Branch, located right in Ingye-dong.
Where to park near Jipbul Taebaek
Jipbul Taebaek Suwon Ingye Branch doesn't have its own parking lot, so I found a spot on a parking app offering 8 hours for ₩5,000 (holidays 07:00-15:00), bought the pass, and parked there. I ended up at a place called "Amano Samsung Fire Suwon Parking Lot" nearby.
Inside Jipbul Taebaek: seating and atmosphere

Walking further in, the whole space felt spacious and relaxed!

There were also tables set up for larger groups, so it looks like a great spot for a work dinner or group gathering.
Jipbul Taebaek's menu and the straw-fire pre-searing method

The biggest thing about Jipbul Taebaek is definitely the straw-fire grilling! Unlike a typical BBQ place where you grill raw meat at the table from scratch, here the meat is pre-seared over straw fire first, then prepped so it's ready to eat at the table.

Beyond the meat, there's a range of menu items like naengmyeon (cold noodles) and stew, plus drinks including highballs, soju, and bokbunja (Korean black raspberry wine).
Side dishes and the self-serve bar at Jipbul Taebaek

First, the side dishes were set up — and there were so many kinds! Each one felt made with care, and they all paired well with the meat.

They serve bracken fern and aged kimchi alongside the meat too, and if you run low on any side dish, you can grab more from the self-serve bar — very convenient.

Pork grilled three times, finished at your table
And then the meat arrives! It's already been pre-seared twice, then grilled once more at the table, for three rounds of grilling total.

Staff grill the meat for you, which was such a relief. They grilled the meat along with the bracken fern and kimchi so it was ready to eat.

For people like me who find grilling meat a hassle and honestly a bit tricky, having staff grill it for you is such a blessing.

Tteoksam: rice cake grilled on top of the pork
They grilled rice cake right on top of the meat — apparently tteoksam (meat grilled with rice cake) is trending these days. It's meat eaten with rice cake on top, and the soft tteok with the meat was surprisingly good together!

The stew at Jipbul Taebaek is better than expected
Apparently Jipbul Taebaek is also known for its stew?! I'd heard a lot about how good the stew is here, and after trying it myself, I got why it's so popular.

The spicy stew cut through the richness of the meat nicely and worked great as a side dish for a full meal too.

Pork neck vs pork belly: which one to order
The meat was delicious, no question! The straw-fire aroma soaked into the meat, and the more you chewed, the more flavor came through. We tried both pork neck and pork belly, and personally, I liked the pork neck more.

That clean, chewy texture unique to pork neck matched so well with the straw-fire grilling.

We wrapped up with cool naengmyeon — a splash of vinegar and mustard brought out the savory notes, and the cold broth washed away all the greasiness. Absolutely perfect.
Is Jipbul Taebaek good for a work dinner or group gathering?
Overall, Jipbul Taebaek had great-tasting meat and a comfortable atmosphere, making for an easy, enjoyable meal. Unlike a typical BBQ place, the straw-fire pre-searing gives it a deeper flavor, and since staff grill the meat for you, it was so nice to be able to just relax and chat through the meal.
The place is spacious with roomy tables, so if you're looking for a spot for a work dinner or group gathering near Ingye-dong, Suwon, you'll likely be very happy here! Naver Reservation is available too, so I'd recommend booking ahead — if you're after a great restaurant in Ingye-dong, Suwon, Jipbul Taebaek Suwon Ingye Branch is it!
