I went to Nahyeseok-geori (Nahyeseok Street) a while back! Since I was in Inge-dong and craving pork belly, I headed over to Dojeok Suwon.

Actually, this wasn't my first time here — I'd visited once before and remembered having a decent meal, so I naturally came back this time too haha. What I especially love about this place is that the staff grill the meat for you, so you can just eat comfortably haha.
Where is Dojeok Suwon, and where do you park?

Dojeok Suwon is in a spot that's easy to reach from the Inge-dong area. It's a great location for meeting friends in Inge-dong, eating, and heading to a second spot afterward, so it'd work well as a gathering place.
Is Dojeok Suwon a good room for a group company dinner?

Walking into Dojeok Suwon, it has that classic Korean BBQ restaurant feel, but overall it's kept pretty neat and tidy. The spacing between tables wasn't uncomfortable for eating, and it had a good atmosphere for chatting comfortably with friends while eating meat.
And as I felt again this time, the real strength of Dojeok is that the staff grill the meat for you! At Korean BBQ restaurants there's often that awkward game of who's going to grill 😤 but here the staff just take care of it, so you can sit back comfortably and wait. All you have to do is eat comfortably and go home. That's why I thought it'd also work well as a group dinner spot haha.
Two servings of pork belly plus one hwangje deossal at Dojeok Suwon

This time at Dojeok Suwon we ordered pork belly (2 servings) + hwangje deossal (premium pork belly cut, 1 serving)‼️

The meat went on the grill and the staff grilled it to just the right doneness — meat really does taste best when someone else grills it for you 😤

Can you see how good the quality of the meat is?

Taking a bite of the golden-brown pork belly, the texture was good and the juiciness was just right, so it was delicious. Rather than just eating pork belly the whole time, adding one order of hwangje deossal made it more fun to mix things up in between haha.

If you love meat, I'd recommend pairing your pork belly with another menu item rather than just ordering pork belly alone.

Finishing the meal with kimchi kalguksu
And at the end, we also ordered kimchi kalguksu (knife-cut noodles in kimchi broth). After eating meat, you somehow always crave something with broth or noodles haha. Eating noodles in the spicy, tangy kimchi broth was the perfect way to wrap up the meal after all that meat. In the end, we walked out stuffed to the brim again that day 🦍
Tips before you book Dojeok Suwon
If you're visiting Dojeok for the first time, just leave the grilling to the staff! You don't have to keep flipping the meat yourself, so you can eat much more comfortably.
Also, if there are about 2–3 of you, it's a good idea to split up your meat order like we did. We ate pork belly → hwangje deossal → kimchi kalguksu, and going through the courses this way made it less repetitive than sticking to one dish, and kept things tasty all the way to the end haha.

Also, if you're planning to have a noodle or rice dish after the meat, it's smart not to over-order at the start! We were only thinking about the meat at first, then added kimchi kalguksu on top and ended up completely stuffed 😤
Honest verdict after a repeat visit to Dojeok Suwon

It had been a while since I last visited Dojeok in Inge-dong, and this time again I left satisfied. Above all, having the staff grill the meat was just so nice. There's no need to designate a grilling person, and you can eat comfortably while chatting, so if you want Korean BBQ for a group gathering, this is a must-visit spot. This time I had pork belly and hwangje deossal, then finished with kimchi kalguksu, and personally I was pretty happy with the combination.
It was good when I visited before, and coming back again, both the taste and the convenience were still satisfying, so I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a pork belly restaurant in Inge-dong.
