Pad thai and pho sibling set at Pho Witch, an Anyang restaurant

I wanted proper Vietnamese pho in Anyang, so I went to Pho Witch in the Pyeongchon food alley near the Pyeongchon hagwon district. A close friend recommended it, and it turned out the pad thai was just as amazing as the pho! I immediately understood why this place has waiting lines as an Anyang pho spot. So today I'm writing up my Anyang date review of Pho Witch~!

Pho Witch is located in the Pyeongchon food alley near the Pyeongchon hagwon district in Anyang. Parking is available right in front of the restaurant, or you can park roadside.

How long is the weekend afternoon wait?

Pho Witch is already famous as an Anyang pho restaurant, so there's a wait during meal times. You register on the tablet inside and wait. I visited around 2pm on a Saturday and waited about 10 minutes before getting seated.

An interior with genuine Vietnamese atmosphere

The moment I walked in, it felt just like traveling to Vietnam! The tables, decor, interior, even the plates and tableware all carried that authentic Vietnamese vibe.

I loved the exotic atmosphere, and the restaurant was clean with spacious tables, making it great for family gatherings, year-end parties, or a date course. There were baby chairs too, so it would be comfortable for a family meal with kids. There were also small tables, which looked convenient for a solo lunch or dinner on a weekday!

Pho Witch's Vietnamese menu

As a Vietnamese restaurant, Pho Witch had a wide range of pho types alone. From basic, spicy, to short rib pho, they also had authentic Vietnamese noodle dishes like pad thai and bún chả, plus stir-fried options like bánh mì, nasi goreng, and fried rice.

There were also plenty of set options, from 1-person sets up to 4-person sets. Since we visited as two people, we ordered the sibling set, which included pho, pad thai, tempura, and a drink!

The siblings' heartfelt pho, reviewed

I love basic pho the most, so I picked the Siblings' Heartfelt Pho (남매의 정성 쌀국수). I tried the broth first, and it really tasted like authentic Vietnamese pho! It wasn't greasy — light and clean, yet with a deep, savory meat flavor that kept me sipping the broth over and over.

The pho noodles were soft and slid down smoothly, and with crunchy bean sprouts and tender meat piled generously on top, the portion was quite substantial.

Picking up noodles, bean sprouts, and meat together, then following with a sip of broth, was satisfying enough to lift my mood. I added Cheongyang chili, and its clean spiciness paired perfectly with the pho.

The must-order dish: pad thai

If you go to Pho Witch, you must order the pad thai!!!!! Wow... this was truly the pad thai I love, exactly as it should be ㅠㅠ First off, the noodles soak up the sauce completely, so it's rich and thick!!

The sauce had the perfect balance of saltiness and sweetness, bursting with umami, and it was loaded with peanuts, adding a perfect nutty aroma on top!

There were plump shrimp and lots of vegetables mixed in too. Even writing this now makes me want to rush back for pad thai right away...

Crispy jumbo shrimp tempura

There were various side options for the set, like spring rolls, vegetable tempura, and mixed tempura, but I chose the jumbo shrimp tempura. It's fried fresh to order, so the outside was crispy while the shrimp inside was plump and springy.

It's delicious on its own, but dipping it in the accompanying chili sauce or eating it alongside the pad thai made it even better!
