Scent Perfume Workshop (센트 향수공방) is a well-known Daejeon perfume workshop and a quirky date spot in Dunsan-dong. I've been to plenty of perfume workshops and already have lots of perfume at home, so I planned to make just one each. But there were so many scents that were exactly my taste that I paid extra to make one more, and I was already thinking I'd have to come back and make even more... It's the perfume workshop I liked best. If you're looking for a quirky date in Dunsan-dong, Daejeon, or you're a scent nerd, I really recommend it, so let me walk you through how it went.
Scent Perfume Workshop location, hours and parking

Scent Perfume Workshop is inside Sharkzone next to Boramae Park in Daejeon, on the 1st floor at unit 187. It's open 10:00–19:00. Sharkzone has free parking. There are lots of shops inside Sharkzone, so I'd check the map to find the unit!
Found it at last! I went straight in. The shop was packed with all kinds of perfumes and empty bottles.

What is Scent Perfume Workshop, and what can you make?
The workshop is run directly by a nationally certified cosmetics expert who is also a perfumer with a degree-level background in fragrance and cosmetics science, so several certificates hang on the wall. They say they strictly follow IFRA (International Fragrance Association) rules and use verified cosmetic-grade premium fragrance oils and a naturally fermented plant-based base. Haha.
You can make sachets, perfume, diffusers, hand cream and more. Here's what my friend and I did.
- Me: personal blending class 30ml + 100ml diffuser + review event luxury perfume 10ml (free)
- Friend: personal blending class 30ml x 2 + review event luxury perfume 10ml (free)
How does the 30ml personal blending class work?
Step 1: Choosing top, middle and last notes
In the personal blending class at Scent Perfume Workshop, from many kinds of scents you choose about 1–2 top notes (the first thing you smell), 2–3 middle notes (the main theme of the perfume), and 2 last notes (the lingering scent that stays on your skin).

When I'd smelled so many scents that I couldn't pick them up anymore, I sniffed coffee beans now and then or stepped outside for a moment, and when I got hungry I ate the snacks they brought over. Haha.
Wow.. but there were more scents that were exactly my taste than at any perfume workshop I've been to, and my friend and I kept going 'Ugh.. how do we choose.. ugh..' LOL. To give you a little taste: there are fruit scents I love (apricot, cherry, orange, tomato leaf, pear, mango, pineapple, strawberry and more) and floral scents (3+ kinds of rose, lilac, freesia and more), plus lots of other scents. If you like perfume, definitely go..🫶🏻
Here are the scents I painfully chose.
- Top – Citrus: citron, lemon
- Middle – Floral: rose, tuberose / Aldehyde: aldehyde
- Last – Woody: cedarwood / Powdery: vanilla / Gourmand: praline / Animal: civet gel
Step 2: Smell test in a small container
We put the set amounts into a small container and smelled it to test whether the scent was good. I liked the scent right away on the first try, so I went ahead.

Step 3: Picking a bottle and weighing the oils on a scale
Based on the blend I liked, I chose a perfume bottle I liked from the many empty bottles and added the fragrance oils using a scale.

I was careful not to pour too much all at once and put in exactly the set amounts.
Decorating your bottle with oil color and stickers
One of the good things about Scent Perfume Workshop is that you can choose the color of the oil too. Since my main scent was rose, I went with pink. Haha.

Another good thing is that there are lots of stickers, so you can decorate it however you like.

Ta-da! I decorated it with cute Alice in Wonderland stickers and put my name on it. It felt like a perfume that was truly mine, and I loved it.💖

Making a 100ml cocoa and coffee diffuser
While smelling scents at Scent Perfume Workshop, I found a cocoa + coffee scent, one I always love but had never met at a perfume workshop, and it was so good T_T I decided I had to make it even if it cost extra, so I mentioned it during the smell test and made a cocoa and coffee diffuser.
Choosing scents and sample smell test
Making a diffuser works the same as making perfume. The most important thing for me was a strong cocoa + coffee scent as the main, so I boldly skipped the middle notes and chose like this.
- Top – Green: fig
- Last – Gourmand: cacao / Powdery: coconut, vanilla

Picking a Christmas tree bottle and blending
Christmas season is coming soon, so I chose a Christmas tree bottle.

I added the oils based on the amounts they wrote down for me. Since it's a Christmas tree bottle I thought about going green.. but since it's a cocoa/cacao scent I made it brown. Haha.

Ta-da! They also gave me a Christmas hat and scarf as a gift, so I dressed up the diffuser bottle and took photos at the photo zone.. I love it so much..💖

And here are our three 30ml perfumes and the 100ml diffuser💖 They looked so pretty in the photo zone..

There are so many scents that are exactly my taste, and you can also choose the oil color and decorate with stickers and more, so I loved it..💖
Luxury 10ml perfume from the review event
The review event at Scent Perfume Workshop lets you fill a 10ml bottle with one of several luxury perfumes, such as Chanel and Yves Saint Laurent. They were all so much my taste that I agonized over what to pick.. in the end I chose Chanel Coco Mademoiselle.
You fill the 10ml bottle yourself and put on the sticker you want, and you're done! Review events at perfume workshops usually let you choose from the workshop's own perfumes, so I liked that they give a luxury perfume like this even more.💖
Packaging and whether I'd go back
The perfumes we finished at Scent Perfume Workshop were packaged prettily like this and put in a paper bag.

Even the packaging.. I loved it..🫶🏻 Honestly, once I've used up my perfume and diffuser, I'm going again.. My friend said she'll go back to make a diffuser too, LOL. For people who really love scents, this is a Daejeon perfume workshop I recommend so, so, so much..💖
