One-hour upper body PT trial in Hongdae, Seoul: Reboost PT Hongdae
In short
Reboost PT Hongdae Branch is a personal training studio on the basement level of a building on Wausan-ro 23-gil in Mapo, Seoul, right in front of Seogyo Elementary School. A one-day trial at Reboost PT ran about an hour, with 10 minutes of stretching followed by an upper body routine that left my arms too sore to lift that afternoon. The program changes daily and you can drop in at any time during business hours, which makes Reboost PT Hongdae Branch a good fit for office workers who often stay late.

Reboost PT Hongdae Branch ✔️ For people who stand in the gym wondering "what should I do today?" ✔️ For people tired of boring routines ✔️ For people who want to work out late after overtime Let me introduce a place for exactly these people! It's Reboost PT, located near Hongdae Station exit.
Where is Reboost PT Hongdae Branch? 5–7 minutes from Hongik Univ. Station Exit 9
Reboost PT Hongdae Branch is in the basement of a building at B1, 20-30 Wausan-ro 23-gil, Mapo-gu, Seoul, right in front of Seogyo Elementary School. It's 2–3 minutes from Hongik University's main gate and 5–7 minutes from Hongik Univ. Station Exit 9.
Reboost PT hours: open until 11pm Monday to Thursday, drop in when you like
Saturdays are group class only and Sunday is closed, but on weekdays it's open from morning until 11pm. I think this is one of Reboost's biggest advantages! You can visit any time during business hours.
You just arrive whenever fits your schedule, then do stretching followed by the workout!
Entrance and first impressions: a head coach with 14 years of experience
Go in and head down to the left. The wall is covered with before-and-after photos of (presumably) members.

Following the wall down the stairs, you'll find lockers and a door! On my first day, the coach greeted me so warmly right away that I could start the workout in a good mood. The lead coach has a whopping 14 years of PT coaching experience!

Inside Reboost PT: equipment, lockers and showers
The interior is packed with workout equipment and weights! I was surprised by just how many foam rollers there were :O

Near the entrance is the men's changing room, and further in is the women's. You can store your belongings and clothes in a locker, or hang clothes on the hangers provided! (I was surprised at how many lockers there were, too.) Everything you need to shower comfortably after the workout is well stocked — shampoo, body wash, and even lotion!!!!!

How does a session work? 10 minutes of stretching plus a routine that changes daily
Before and after the workout, you follow the stretching routine posted on the wall! Skipping stretching can strain the body, so they say it's important to spend about 10 minutes on it.
- Frog pose
- Pigeon pose
- Wrist stretches, and more
I think I went through about 10 different stretches.

At Reboost PT, a different workout program is prepared every single day! So I thought I'd be able to work out in a fun way without ever getting bored.

My one-hour upper body routine at Reboost PT, and why my arms wouldn't lift
As I mentioned, with stretching before and after, the whole thing took about an hour total. I sweated a ton both during and after the workout... I could really feel a level of intensity thanks to the coach that home workouts alone just can't give you.
The coach explained my form in detail and set the weight/reps of the routine to match my personal level, which I really appreciated. (I did an upper body routine, and that afternoon when I tried to take a box down from a high shelf, my arm just wouldn't go up... 🫠)
Who Reboost PT Hongdae Branch suits best
- People who get bored working out alone
- People who want to enjoy fresh moves every day
- People who want the freedom to visit whenever suits them
- People who want a level of intensity beyond what home workouts give
3 reasons Reboost PT Hongdae Branch stood out
1️⃣ The coach is extremely kind From the very start he greeted me warmly and explained my form in great detail. He demonstrates how to do each movement first, then clearly tells me what's good or not good about my form.
2️⃣ A different workout routine every day One of the things that bothers me most when working out is "repetition." Doing the same exercises every day, you naturally start to feel bored at some point. At Reboost, a new workout is prepared every day. Since you get a variety of exercises matched to that day's focus area, it feels much more enjoyable!
3️⃣ You can go whenever suits you Monday, Wednesday, Friday it opens at 9am, and Tuesday, Thursday at 10:30am. And Monday through Thursday it's open until a whopping 11pm!!!!! Being able to use it on that kind of schedule seems like a really big advantage. Looking at Naver Map reviews, it seems like a lot of office workers who often work overtime come here. Being able to visit and work out whenever fits your own schedule feels really great :)
Highly, highly, highly recommend!
