Indoor camping restaurant in Hongdae with tent naps: TAGE

Sometimes you want to go camping but pitching a tent and hauling gear is just too much hassle haha, yet staying home also feels like a waste.

So this time I decided to get that camping vibe, eat dinner, and properly unwind, so I went to TAGE Indoor Camping Hongdae Main Branch.

Bottom line up front: it was surprising how much you could actually do there!

What is TAGE Indoor Camping Hongdae Main Branch?

Walking into TAGE feels like stepping into a storybook

The atmosphere was unique from the moment we walked in.

It definitely felt different from a regular restaurant or campsite — almost like stepping into a fairy tale. The background music was unusual too, so at first I was like "what is this place?" but the more I looked around, the more fun it got.

I think the biggest advantage is that since it's indoors, the weather has zero effect.

If you planned camping or an outdoor activity and it rains, or it's too hot or too cold, changing plans is always awkward — but here, since it's indoors, you don't have to worry about any of that.

So I thought it'd be a pretty appealing spot for a company workshop, indoor outing, or group dinner too.

Prices: fresh pork belly 14,500 won, frozen pork belly 9,500 won

We ordered fresh pork belly that day.

The place was selling pork belly at reasonable prices — frozen pork belly was ₩9,500 per serving, and fresh pork belly was ₩14,500 per serving.

We wanted to get the full camping vibe, so we went with fresh pork belly!

Grilling meat ourselves indoors actually gave off a real camping feel, more than I expected.

Camping means meat, of course, haha.

Sitting down and grilling meat like this was a different kind of fun compared to just eating at a regular pork belly restaurant. Since we're huge fans of I Am Solo, we put it on Netflix and ate pork belly while watching.

Netflix, karaoke and Nintendo at your table

What's fun about TAGE Indoor Camping is that it's not just about getting a camping vibe indoors.

There was so much you could do — Netflix, karaoke, board games, Nintendo, YouTube, arcade games, and more.

We played games on a console, watched I Am Solo on Netflix, ate, and spent time like that.

Later on we even lay down inside the tent and took a little nap haha.

That part was honestly the best.

We went for dinner but ended up playing games, watching videos, and even lying down to rest, so we didn't need to move to another place at all.

Usually on a date you eat, go to a café, then move somewhere else again, but here you can eat, play, and rest all in one space, which made it so convenient.

There was also a dog kept by the owner at the entrance, and it was so cute.

Seeing the dog right when we walked in put me in a good mood haha.

These small touches made the visit even more memorable.

Indoor camping with no weather worries, and room for groups

TAGE Indoor Camping is fun for a date personally, but I think it'd be even more fun with a bigger group.

It seems especially well-suited for gatherings like company workshops, indoor outings, or group dinners.

You can eat meat and chat, go do karaoke, use the board games or arcade games, and watch Netflix — so there's so much more you can do compared to a dinner where you just eat.

And above all, being indoors so the weather doesn't affect you is a huge advantage!

I liked that you can still get the camping vibe even on a rainy or extremely hot day.

Napping in a tent after dinner: how the TAGE visit ended

That day we ate fresh pork belly, laughed while watching I Am Solo, played games, and finally lay down inside the tent for a short nap.

Honestly, the time spent doing absolutely nothing while lying down was probably my favorite part haha.

It felt like getting all the good parts of camping while skipping the gear prep and weather worries.

It'd suit anyone looking for something different to do in Hongdae, or anyone who wants to handle food and fun in one place.

Next time I want to come back with a bigger group of friends and properly enjoy the board games and karaoke too.

If you're looking for a date or gathering spot in Hongdae that's a bit different from the usual cafés or bars, this place is worth a visit at least once.
