Pizza bar near Olympic Park for a night date: Hope So margherita

In short

Hope So is a wood-fired pizza and draft beer restaurant on Wiryeseong-daero 18-gil in Songpa, Seoul, directly across from Olympic Park. Visiting in the evening after a dog walk, the writer and her partner ordered Asahi 400ml for 9,000 won, carbonara for 19,000 won and a margherita for 22,000 won, eating upstairs on the second floor. With dogs allowed on the terrace and a mood after dark that differs from daytime, Hope So works well for a pizza-and-beer date night.

Today's post is about a date at Hope So, a favorite spot near Olympic Park. I've visited before with my dogs Nuwa and Geuri since the terrace is dog-friendly, but this time we walked them first and then went back at night, just the two of us, for a cozy pizza-and-beer session^^ I'd always gone in the afternoon before, so going at night felt completely different, and I had a great time.

From 4 to 7pm they have a today's pasta menu with a nicely discounted price that changes by day, and there's a wide range of beer on the menu too^^

Evening mood, seating and how to order at Hope So

There were no seats left on the first floor in the evening, so we sat on the second floor. So many people had come straight from work^^ Any empty seat filled right back up almost immediately, haha.

Most of the guests were groups of friends, coworkers, couples, and families! There's a restroom off to one side of the restaurant.

You order through a tablet kiosk at each table, which is really convenient^^

Margherita, carbonara and Asahi at Hope So: what we ordered and the prices

  • Asahi 400ml ₩9,000
  • Carbonara ₩19,000
  • Margherita ₩22,000

The Asahi we ordered came out first^^ Clean, no-nonsense Asahi beer... total win win win.

Here's Hope So's carbonara and margherita. The carbonara comes topped with one cute little chicken drumstick, haha.

The rich cream sauce is just the right amount of heavy while still tasting clean, so it's delicious^^

One bite of drumstick! One bite of carbonara, haha.

And the best dish was the margherita — the wood-fired pizza was perfect to enjoy with beer^^ The combo with the carbonara was really great too~~~
