Lately my husband and I have both been carrying a lot of fatigue, and we really wanted a massage that would loosen everything up. We got a good opportunity and visited a massage shop in Dujeong-dong, and it felt so good that both of us came away completely satisfied. Let me introduce Puan Massage in Dujeong-dong, Cheonan 🙌🏻

The shop has a distinctly exotic Thai feel. It's clean and pleasant, so I felt at ease from the entrance and really had the feeling of coming for proper healing.

Which course should you get on a first visit?

Puan Massage Cheonan Dujeong Branch also lists recommended courses for first-timers. For men, they suggest the full package massage (full-body Thai + back stone aroma); for women, a stone aroma massage or a cream massage. We already had courses in mind, so we went with those, but next time it might be nice to try the recommended ones.

There's a clean restroom inside the shop, so you can comfortably use it before your massage.

Room types: from single rooms to connecting rooms

Puan Massage has both ondol (heated-floor) and bed-type rooms, so you can choose to suit your taste. There's a 1-person room for when you want to relieve fatigue alone, and a 2-person room that's great for a couple's date.

There's even a 3-person room that's nice for bringing your parents,

and for groups of 3 or more, a connecting room is also available.

Changing in the 2-person bed room: robe for aroma, short sleeves and shorts for Thai

We had our massages in a 2-person bed room. Robes are provided in the room, so for the aroma massage you just stay in the robe. Since mine was the aroma massage, I was also given disposable underwear, and my husband, who had the Thai massage, was given shorts and a short-sleeved shirt.

Foot bath, welcome drink and the foot scrub option

After changing, head to the foot bath area in the lobby, where the foot bath water is already filled.

They serve a drink while you soak, and since we wanted something cold, we asked for plum tea. Besides plum tea, various teas and coffee are available too. Sipping cold plum tea with my feet in warm water was lovely 👍🏻

With the course you can choose one of these: a scrub during the foot bath, switching to organic oil, or a stamp coupon. We went with the foot scrub. Having the soles scrubbed left them silky smooth, and the scent was nice too. Very good!

When the massage starts, the timer in the room starts too! After the massage you can check that you got the full course time, which I liked.

What are the shower rooms and powder room like?

There are separate men's and women's shower rooms, so you can shower after your massage.

The powder room has the basics you need after a shower, like combs, hair dryers and towels, so it seems easy to use.

The shower facilities are clean too, so you can shower comfortably. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash are standard, and toothpaste and toothbrushes were also provided.

Massage review: pressure that made 90 minutes feel short

All the therapists were wearing masks, so the massage felt more hygienic. With cool air conditioning, an aroma massage can get a little chilly, but they turned on the electric blanket beforehand, so my body stayed warm while my face stayed cool.

The pressure wasn't painful, just right and refreshing, so it felt like relaxing in comfort. My husband fell asleep soon after the massage began, which shows how comfortable it was. The staff also checked in now and then about the pressure and any discomfort, so it was easy to speak up if we wanted something.
