A second-floor budae jjigae restaurant near Seongsu Station
I visited Songtan Jindaegwang Budae Jjigae Seongsu Branch, an easy-to-reach spot just 30 meters from Seongsu Station Exit 1.

It is on the second floor! My husband and I were out and about in Seongsu today and came for lunch, and—men’s soul food!!!—budae jjigae (Korean army stew) won. It had been a while for me too, so it tasted even better.

Up we went to the second floor. The retro-style sign really caught my eye. So cool 😙

A cool, spacious dining room
It is seriously huge!! The dining room was spacious and comfortable, and what I especially loved was how cool it was. You get so hot eating budae jjigae, right? It was not hot at all, which was lovely.

You can help yourself to extra side dishes and rice. Such a generous place, hehe.

The retro vibe is the real deal~~ With such kind staff, I think it would also be great for a group gathering or company dinner. I came right at opening around 11 and snapped photos while there was no one around, but soon afterward guests started pouring in. Already certified as a great restaurant!

Even the utensils are kept hygienically.

The basic side dishes arrived. That scallion kimchi looks delicious..!!! Pickled onions go so well with budae jjigae too.

There is also a receipt-review event, so give it a try.
Ordering Jindaegwang budae jjigae and assorted sausages
After looking over the menu, I ordered two servings of Jindaegwang budae jjigae.

So generous-looking already~ Plus an order of assorted sausages!

I was disappointed that the fried sundae (Korean blood sausage) was sold out ㅠㅠ They also have pork loin tonkatsu. The value seems great, so it would be perfect to add as a side.

They had alcohol too, but since it was lunch, I passed~ It seems like it would pair nicely with budae jjigae as an anju (drinking snack).

Wow, there was already a lot in it, but adding sausages made it absolutely enormous. We put the lid on and waited.

A spicy, savory broth after the timer rings
When the timer goes off, a staff member opens the lid for you. It was bubbling away deliciously. The neatly arranged ham was releasing its juices into the broth. I could not even imagine how tasty it was about to become, haha.

Ahh, this is the real deal.

There were three kinds: square ham, round sausage, and long sausages.

You can add more broth too. It is right beside you, so it is easy to top up whenever you want. The broth was refreshing and spicy, and I kept drinking it, so it disappeared in no time, hahaha.
The ramen noodle and scallion kimchi combination
You cannot leave out ramen, haha! It was Jin Ramen!

Ahh. I like ramen noodles both well-cooked and still a little firm? So I eat both, hahaha. The scallion kimchi pairing deserves major praise.

Rice soaked in the broth was also excellent—a total rice thief ㅠㅠ

I loved having such a variety of ham and sausages. With so much packed in, the broth tasted really rich and delicious..

One bite of ramyeon-juk (ramen rice porridge), haha. The ramen slid right down so smoothly—it was such a treat.

To finish, there was yogurt too! I ate so well and left completely full. Hahaha. Free slushies, coffee, and yogurt on the way out too~ What a thoughtful owner~
Generous sausages and ham, rich broth, and ramen noodles—perfect!~
Looking at it again is making me hungry. This is a great spot for Seongsu-dong office workers. If you are having budae jjigae in Seongsu, definitely give it a try~
