In short
Ilbeonji Jeongyuk Sikdang Janghanpyeong Branch is a Korean beef restaurant in Dongdaemun, Seoul, right by Exit 3 of Janghanpyeong Station. Three of us generously shared the 1.2kg Big Cow Platter for 85,000 won with scallion salad and beef brisket doenjang-jjigae. A great pick for family meals or lively group gatherings.

I visited Ilbeonji Jeongyuk Sikdang Janghanpyeong Branch, a great-value beef restaurant in Jangan-dong right in front of Exit 3 of Janghanpyeong Station. The meat quality was excellent and the portions were generous, making it perfect for a gathering.
A spacious venue for company dinners in Jangan-dong
The moment you walk in, you can’t help but be impressed by how spacious it is. There are lots of large tables, so it looked ideal for group gatherings or company dinners; they said reserved tables can be set aside if you book ahead.

With tables for four, eight, and more, plus its lively atmosphere, it felt perfect for a company dinner in Jangan-dong. At overly quiet restaurants, you feel self-conscious about chatting loudly at a work dinner, but this is just right for talking over grilled meat.
We visited on a weekday evening and there were quite a lot of diners. There seemed to be all kinds of gatherings, from friends to families. When you’re grilling meat, a disposable apron isn’t optional—it’s essential!

A full 1.2kg Big Cow Platter spread

We ordered the 1.2kg Big Cow Platter for ₩85,000. Along with king oyster mushrooms, it comes with six cuts: ribeye cap, chuck flap, hanger steak, beef brisket, short rib meat, and flat iron steak.

The color of the beef was so gorgeous. Ilbeonji Jeongyuk Sikdang Janghanpyeong Branch says it uses only premium beef that has gone through meticulous aging management and strict selection. No wonder the color looked so vivid and the quality so good.
The table setting included ssamjang (seasoned soybean paste), garlic, lettuce and perilla leaves for wraps, pickled onion, corn salad, pickled chili peppers, napa cabbage kimchi, and scallion salad. Since I knew I’d eat lots of scallion salad, I asked for another serving right away, and they kindly brought it over.

Just looking at this beef spread, with its noticeably beautiful color, made my appetite come alive. The vivid marbling and glossy sheen had me excited before it even hit the grill! Okay, let’s eat... itadakimasu!
Starting with grilled beef brisket
First, we put beef brisket on the well-heated grill, dropping a piece or two into the soybean paste stew to make beef brisket doenjang-jjigae. Then we added the ribeye cap too.
The beef sizzled deliciously the instant it hit the grill and turned golden brown!! Too bad the sound didn’t make it into the post... haha. Because the meat was high quality, the juices just flowed! Watching the juicy meat change into such appetizing colors made me want to eat it immediately.
Eat the beef brisket as soon as its color changes. My very first huge bite was with pickled onion!

With a bite of properly cooked meat, its savory beef aroma gently spread through my mouth, and the tender texture completely won me over. It was clean-tasting, yet its nuttiness deepened the more I chewed.
Beef gets tough if you cook it too long, so eat it as soon as it changes color.

Since it’s a butcher’s restaurant, I really liked being able to eat high-quality meat at such good value.

I prefer lightly dipping it in pickled onion rather than ssamjang. I moved the nicely cooked pieces to the side for a moment. There was so much meat that our eating speed couldn’t keep up with our grilling speed... lol.
Even though we were eating diligently, the Big Cow Platter was still so plentiful! There were three of us, so we ordered it to eat generously, but I had no idea there would be this much meat.

Wrap a piece with fragrant perilla leaf and scallion salad, and the rich meat flavor filling your mouth goes wonderfully with the herbaceous aroma of the leaf.

Unlimited-refill doenjang-jjigae and the self-serve bar
You can also simmer doenjang-jjigae in the middle of the grill, and it comes with unlimited refills. If we ran low while eating, the staff proactively refilled the broth and vegetables. We added beef brisket to make beef brisket doenjang-jjigae. Soybean paste stew really is the best match for beef. I can do without rice, but not without doenjang-jjigae.
For side dishes that run low, use the self-serve bar. It was fully stocked with wrap vegetables, onion, garlic, and pickled chili peppers. They say the vegetables are fresh ones bought at the dawn market every day, so I felt I could eat with confidence.

Ilbeonji Jeongyuk Sikdang’s beef had such vivid pink color and incredible marbling!
The staff explained every cut when the meat first came out, but I have the issue of not remembering them, so I’m not exactly sure which was which. But regardless of the cut, beef is all delicious, right... haha. Each has its own character—clean, tender, rich... anyway, every bit was just delicious.

A sesame-oil tip for scallion salad
The staff gave us a great tip for the scallion salad: drizzle it lightly with sesame oil from the self-serve bar, snip it into smaller pieces with scissors, and eat it with the meat. I immediately topped a piece of beef with the scallions, and it was the meat’s nuttiness plus the nuttiness of sesame oil!

I liked that the Big Cow Platter comes with different cuts of beef, so you can taste each one. The grain and texture vary slightly by cut, which makes trying them one by one especially fun.

Maybe because we ate different cuts, I didn’t get tired of it at all even after eating a lot. The meat was tender and flavorful, the kind you just keep reaching for.

Look at that moist cross-section of beef. It totally earns its spot as a Janghanpyeong Station favorite. It was delicious without any dip, but a tiny touch of salt magically doubled the flavor!
I was so satisfied that we could eat such delicious, high-quality beef so generously at a great-value price. Even though it was beef, the price didn’t feel burdensome, so it would be wonderful for family dining or group gatherings too.

No wonder it’s a well-known restaurant in Jangan-dong! The meat was really tasty and clean-tasting, and I never got tired of it no matter how much I ate... haha. When am I going to diet... haha.
We ordered soft drinks to cleanse the palate, and for ₩2,000 they gave us a full 500ml Coke. It wasn’t only the meat that was good value—the drink price was too! I was touched. These days, most restaurants give you a little can for ₩2,000, but here it was 500ml ㅠㅠ
What cut is this one... chuck flap? Short rib meat? Well, what does it matter which cut it is? They’re both delicious, hehe.
Why it worked so well for a family meal in Jangan-dong

At Ilbeonji Jeongyuk Sikdang Janghanpyeong Branch, each cut had its own distinct flavor, with a deep beef aroma and savory taste gently unfolding as I chewed. It was especially delicious with scallion strips.
Above all, the meat itself was high quality, so every bite was satisfying, and the generous quantity made for a filling meal. If you’re looking for a great-value beef restaurant in Jangan-dong, I recommend stopping by.
Being right in front of the station made it easy to reach, and I also liked that parking and valet service are available right in front, making it convenient to visit. I definitely want to recommend it as a gathering spot.

They are also running a Naver review event, where writing a review gets you one complimentary soft drink. There was after-meal coffee too.

Since parking is free, it’s worth noting that an additional ₩2,000 is charged for every 10 minutes after your meal. I’ll have to come back when I’m craving beef again.
