Seongsu Italian café brunch: truffle panini at Frolla

I found a seriously unique, hip café in Seongsu ˗ˋˏ Frolla ˎˊ- There are so many cafés in Seongsu these days that it takes something pretty distinctive to stick in your mind, but this place felt different the second I walked in.

Frolla exterior and location

The pink Frolla sign catches your eye straight away, and just look at how hip the entrance is… ♡̈ The eyes painted on the floor at the entrance? The vibe is absolutely insane.

Frolla is 679 m from Seongsu Station Exit 3. This Seongsu café is run by an Italian owner, where you can enjoy authentic Italian coffee culture alongside brunch and desserts. .ᐟ

Inside Frolla's colorful space

Oh my goodness. Once you get inside, from the colorful furniture to the objects, posters, and plants—the owner's eye for design here is unreal ∞♡ Personally, I love places with such a clear concept. It wasn't just a hip interior either; every menu item had a real personality too, which I loved.

It's so much fun looking around every corner of the café. The posters and mirrors on the walls, the giant rhinoceros that suddenly appears, and shelves packed with little objects . . ˖˚ ͙ෆ Individually, they all seem different, but put together, they become pure Frolla.

Italian desserts and standing espresso

Frolla in Seongsu also has a wide range of Italian desserts that go beautifully with coffee, from homemade desserts baked fresh every morning to tiramisu, crostata, and biscotti. .ᐟ

Another fun point here was the standing espresso. .ᐟ An espresso drunk standing up costs ₩2,500, and it isn't simply a budget menu—it is a coffee culture commonly seen in Italy. Since quickly having a shot of espresso and heading off is an everyday habit there, it is often cheaper than sitting at a table. . Being able to experience this coffee culture in Seongsu feels like one of Frolla's own charms too ~ ❤︎

This is what we ordered. Especially the Truffle Parma—I really, really want to recommend it if you came for brunch. (Apparently it was featured on the Seongsu episode of Hal Myung-soo too, shh shh.)

Truffle Parma panini with added nuts

Truffle Parma (with nuts) A panini packed with Parma prosciutto and truffle flavor inside ciabatta with melty, nutty Italian mozzarella. There were seriously heaps of vegetables and ham tucked between the bread, and with the cheese and truffle flavor added in, I took one bite and immediately told my husband it was ridiculously good 𓂃꙳⋆

We added nuts too, and that was such a good choice ♬˖ ࣪⊹ There were plenty of sliced almonds on top, adding little bursts of nutty crunch that made it even better.

It already looks pretty generous in the photos, but it felt even more generous when we actually ate it. If you're looking for brunch at a Seongsu café, don't just have coffee and dessert—please try this menu item that Hal Myung-soo recommended too ᵎᵎᵎ

Espresso Tiramisu served in a glass

Espresso Tiramisu My husband, who loves espresso, ordered it because it was such an unusual menu item. It's a popular signature item available in limited quantities, so have it while it's there .ᐟ.ᐟ.ᐟ Rather than the usual square tiramisu, espresso and mascarpone cheese cream come in a glass, with Savoiardi biscuits standing on top. The way you eat it is fun too. Dip a Savoiardi biscuit into the glass so that it soaks up a little espresso, then load it up with mascarpone cheese cream and eat them together. ★ One Savoiardi refill is available ★

My husband took one bite and it was completely his thing. He said that unlike tiramisu that's just sweet, you could really taste the coffee ㆅ If you're looking for great tiramisu or espresso in Seongsu, highly recommend this menu item .ᐟ

Summer-only Bloody Lemon

Bloody Lemon And this was my order. I can't drink coffee, so I was worried, what if everything is coffee? But then I found an item that was exactly my taste. It is a summer-only menu item: watermelon juice topped with lemon gelato, sweet and tangy and totally my kind of thing •❥

Honestly, it was the best fruit drink I've ever tried. What was unusual was that you don't drink it through a straw—you scoop it up with a spoon. Slurp, slurp with the spoon: sweet, tangy, and so delicious.

At first, because the atmosphere was so hip and pretty, I thought lots of people would come just to take photos. But after eating, I changed my mind. Every item was delicious, and from brunch to espresso and tiramisu, each one had Frolla's distinct character. I loved that the Italian café concept carried through into the food too. If you love a hip atmosphere and want a Seongsu brunch café, great coffee in Seongsu, a slightly different Italian coffee experience, or original tiramisu, I recommend Frolla.
