Honeymoon bikini prep at a Gangnam waxing salon: Super Waxing Gangnam

I got a Brazilian wax for the perfect bikini look on my honeymoon-!! The place I visited was Super Waxing Gangnam (슈퍼왁싱 강남), near Exit 11 of Gangnam Station ( 'ᢦ' )

It was a quick walk from Gangnam Station so the location was convenient, and I was especially satisfied that even a quick dash over during lunch break left me with time left to eat. Let me start the story of my Gangnam Station waxing at Super Waxing Gangnam~!

It was close to Exit 11 of Gangnam Station so it was easy to find, and the treatment was short enough to slot into the middle of my schedule!! If you have plans at Gangnam Station and an awkward gap of time, it's totally OK to go get waxed then!! (I went during lunch and still had plenty of time to eat afterward). It's in a convenient spot and the sign stands out, so it wasn't hard to find at all!!

The third-floor entrance and waiting area

I went up to the 3rd floor-♥ and found a pretty sign reminiscent of Kodak, haha, so I went in. You change into indoor slippers to enter, and when all the estheticians are busy with treatments there's no one at the desk, but no need to panic — just have a seat on the sofa and relax, kkkd

It had been a while since my last wax, and it was my first time at this particular place so I was a little nervous, but the bright, cozy interior that felt more like a café quickly put me at ease~ haha

The questions and consultation before the wax

I filled out a questionnaire for the treatment and got briefed on precautions! The consultation was gentle, and even though I don't know much about waxing, the esthetician caught exactly what I wanted right away from whatever I said, which relaxed me even more, kkkkkkk

Due to time that day I only got the body waxing first, but I'd actually wanted face waxing too..!! I get my eyebrows waxed regularly, so I figured I'd just do both together next time, heh..

Super Waxing aims for low-pain, low-irritation treatments, and they say they use Australian Lycon wax. Of course waxing means pulling out hair so it can't be completely painless, but I felt reassured knowing the estheticians hold nursing assistant and skin care certifications, and some even have a sculpture major background from art school — that trust was part of why I booked with Super Waxing, haha

Why the shower room made the visit easier

They asked if I'd already showered, and I had, but I got anxious and decided to do it again anyway...( ˘͈ ᵕ ˘͈ )ꕤ.˖ kkkkkkkkkk Following the hallway all the way in, a shower room appears!

Everything I needed was there, and it was clean, so I showered as naturally as if I'd been there many times before, kkk. Having a shower room at a waxing salon turned out to be more convenient than I expected. ( σ̴̶̷̤. σ̴̶̷̤ ) It was nice to be able to freshen up before and after the treatment, and I think this is especially worth checking for anyone getting a Brazilian wax for the first time!

Hygiene in the treatment room: single-use spatulas and wax pots

After showering I was led to the treatment room, and the clean supplies caught my eye right away — single-use spatulas (no double-dipping) and single-use cotton pads — so I thought, this is a salon that manages hygiene well ◝(⁰▿<) They said sanitizing is handled thoroughly too, which put my mind at ease since I'm sensitive about this stuff.

It had been a while since I'd seen a wax pot kept this clean, so I was oddly delighted..!! The temperature was well controlled and not too hot, so it was comfortable throughout the treatment.( ︶.̮︶ )

What the Brazilian wax itself was like

Her hands were especially fast, so there was never a moment where she lingered too long on one area, and even though it moved quickly, it never felt rushed or careless — she checked my skin condition carefully throughout. Most of all, even though I'm super easily embarrassed, she kept the mood relaxed enough that I never felt awkward, and that's what I remember most!!

Aftercare advice once the waxing was done

When it was over, she walked me through aftercare precautions. This is clearly a salon that pays attention to things like ingrown hairs, folliculitis, and skin irritation — she explained everything carefully both before and after, and since I had a long trip coming up, I really appreciated how thorough she was!!

Waxing technique itself matters of course, but since it's ultimately a treatment done by a person, I felt like this kind of care really matters just as much⁽⁽(◍˃͈꒵˂͈◍)⁾⁾

I think I'll be coming back here next time too. My revisit intention is 200% 🤍
