With the weather turning cooler, I finally went to give my hair some CPR after ages. My hair is so fineㅠ that it gets damaged easily whenever I have anything done to it. Today’s stop was Park Jun Beauty Lab Gangnam Branch, which is known for its attention to detail 🙌

It is really close—just a two-minute walk from Exit 4 of Sinnonhyeon Station. I walked over from Exit 11 of Gangnam Station, and it took about 10 minutes. It is an ideal spot for anyone looking for a hair salon near Sinnonhyeon or Gangnam Station that is easy to reach by public transit.

The salon is on the second floor of the building, and I made a Naver reservation in advance.

They gave me such a warm welcome from the entrance 🥰

The interior was super spacious, so it still felt comfortable even with lots of clients there 💡

Maybe because it is Gangnam, but I spotted quite a few international clients too〰️ When you arrive, they guide you to lockers where you can store your things.

There was this lovely little mood-filled space too. It looks like Park Jun Beauty Lab Gangnam Branch uses lots of the well-regarded AYUNCHE products 👍 They first served the cutest welcome tea.

The checklist and one-on-one consultation

I filled out a checklist about the service I was getting today, and these were the thoughtful touches I noticed: you can mark what time you need to leave, and you can politely indicate if you would rather not chat during the appointment haha.

The junior stylist handling my hair came over and gave me an incredibly detailed one-on-one consultation. They even found reference images to show me, and since I was getting layers today, we carefully discussed the amount of layering that would suit me and where it should begin 🫶

Sometimes you are in the middle of a salon appointment and suddenly there are extra charges, haha; but Park Jun Beauty Lab Gangnam Branch was great because they explained even the price in detail beforehand.

The layered C-curl design I wanted

My hair is naturally very fine and easily damaged, so I have not had many services done lately. Without a blow-dry, it is just very raw, straight hair,,, basically.

I found reference photos for the style I wanted before I went. What I wanted was a neat layered C-curl perm!

• I wanted to keep as much length as possible.
• Too many layers feel wispy, so I did not want more layers than I already had.

A Re-born magic setting perm that started with care

Before we started, they explained the restorative-perm process in great detail〰️ Another touching thing was that, with such a thoughtful little speech,, 🫶 they prepared a drink and snack. I chose iced honey green tea.

First up was the shampoo, then the appointment properly began〰️ The shampoo was a Shiseido peeling shampoo, and they said that they have recently switched entirely to disposable towels for thorough hygiene.

What makes a restorative perm different from a regular perm is that it uses care-line products alongside the process to minimize heat damage. They began the care with Shiseido products, applying everything so thoroughly that I already felt I could trust them 👍

After another shampoo, my hair looked this neat and calm 🤍 It was only the treatment, but I already loved it (?) My hair was pretty hair all along,,?

Next, they carefully did the cut and moved into the actual perm〰️ My fine hair does not take a perm easily, so we decided to use small rods that would make the curl really strong on day one but help it last longer.

They took out the rods and did the magic setting—my shocked face in the mirror, lol 😂 And finally, we were almost there..! After one more round of care, including a hair mask, then…

Ta-da‼️ My hair is done ✨ Just as I wanted, the layers do not start too high, but fall in at a nicely flattering point‼️ Please last well... haha.

I am hopeless at styling my own hairㅠ so they explained the upkeep in detail, in a way even a beginner like me could understand. They said a restorative perm takes about four hours because it includes care, but it took nearly five hours since they were so meticulous 😂 Maybe it was also because I marked on the checklist that I did not have a set time to leave haha.

Still, I was so grateful for how carefully they looked after me. If you are planning to visit Park Jun Beauty Lab Gangnam Branch, I recommend the junior stylist 🙌

Also, unlike other hair salons, Park Jun Beauty Lab Gangnam Branch actually has a photo booth—and despite appearances, it is a seriously great spot for photos⁉️

The lighting was so pretty that I took a photo after getting my hair done.

Parking is free: park at Jeil Parking Lot, a one-minute walk from the salon, and bring your parking ticket. They cover the parking fee from your reservation time until your service is complete❗️ So I think visitors driving themselves can use it comfortably too 🚘
