Jamsil burger spot: daytime Stella beer and fried eggplant, Daily Fix
In short
Daily Fix Jangmi Sangga is an American diner-style burger restaurant in the basement of Jangmi Sangga Building B near Jamsil Station in Songpa, Seoul. Two friends, one from Uijeongbu and one from Suwon, met halfway in Jamsil for a daytime beer, pairing Stella draft beer with a bacon cheeseburger, a pastrami sandwich and fried eggplant. Thanks to the rich, juicy Hanwoo patty and the surprisingly crispy-outside, tender-inside fried eggplant, Daily Fix is worth a return visit whenever a burger and beer are calling.

Why we picked Daily Fix in Jamsil to meet a friend
Daily Fix Jangmi Sangga is a burger restaurant in the basement of Jangmi Sangga Building B near Jamsil Station, and it has a reputation as one of the "top three burgers in Gangnam." On the day I met a friend I hadn't seen in a while, Jamsil was the halfway point between her place in Uijeongbu and mine in Suwon, so we headed to Daily Fix.
Since I moved to Suwon, the transit is so convenient that I seem to come to the Gangnam area more often than before. This day we visited Daily Fix in Jangmi Sangga, famous as a Jamsil Station burger place. With a reputation as one of Gangnam's top three burgers, I'd been curious about it for a while.

How to find Daily Fix in Jangmi Sangga from Jamsil Station
Daily Fix is in the basement of Jangmi Sangga Building B, about a 10-minute walk from Jamsil Station Exit 7. Underground entrance no. 6 of Building B was the easiest way to find it.
It was my first time at Jangmi Sangga, and I was surprised that it is split into Building A and Building B and is bigger than I expected.

Heading downstairs, the retro vibe reminded me of the old Eunma Sangga underground arcade. There are several underground entrances, though, so first-timers could get confused. Having gone myself, I'd say underground entrance no. 6 of Building B is the easiest.
Daily Fix atmosphere and wait times
Daily Fix blends the retro feel of the Jangmi Sangga basement with an American diner style. We came before the lunch rush, so there was no wait and we could relax.
My friend and I went in saying, "They say it's one of Gangnam's top three burgers, so let's try it." The exterior already had an exotic feel, with the retro basement mood and the American diner style blending naturally. I was excited before we even walked in. The interior was full of character too.

In the daytime it felt like a brunch place, and I imagine it turns into a nice spot for a beer in the evening.

What we ordered at Daily Fix
At Daily Fix you sit down and order by QR code. The two of us ordered burger, sandwich, a side and two beers.

- Bacon cheeseburger
- Pastrami sandwich
- Fried eggplant (with extra signature sauce)
- Stella draft beer
- Hand and Malt mocha stout
Starting a daytime beer with Stella on draft
The first thing to arrive was a cold Stella draft beer. The moment I saw the draft tap, the beer order was practically decided.
Clinking glasses with my friend in the middle of the day and taking a sip instantly put me in a good mood.

With a delicious burger, I thought, a daytime beer can make you plenty happy. And look at those angel rings on the glass!

Is the Daily Fix bacon cheeseburger salty?
The Daily Fix bacon cheeseburger tastes rich and juicy before it tastes salty. It is a handmade burger with house-smoked bacon and a 100% Hanwoo (Korean beef) patty, we were told.

The bacon cheeseburger was the first to arrive. From the looks of it I assumed it would be salty, but it was completely different. The richness and juiciness came first, not the saltiness. The Hanwoo patty was very juicy without being overly strong in flavor, so it was easy to keep eating.
Even though the patty was thick, it wasn't dry at all, and the tender texture left an impression. No single ingredient stood out; everything blended together naturally. With the first bite I thought, "Yes, this is a proper handmade burger."

If you're looking for a good burger in Jamsil, this is the first thing I'd recommend.
Is the Daily Fix pastrami sandwich greasy?
The Daily Fix pastrami sandwich is brisket cured for 72 hours, then smoked and served on ciabatta. The meat is stacked in layers, but thanks to the red cabbage pickles it isn't greasy and finishes clean.
The pastrami sandwich came out right after the bacon cheeseburger.

My friend took one look and said, "Oh, ciabatta?" She really is a nine-dan homemaker who knows at a glance.

Personally, I kept thinking of coleslaw the whole time. The plain ciabatta and smoked meat go well together, so a fresh, tangy coleslaw on the side would suit it even more. The meat was stacked in layers but not greasy at all, and the red cabbage pickles kept the finish clean.

It was a hearty sandwich that still finished fresh.

Fried eggplant instead of fries: which sauce to choose
Daily Fix's fried eggplant is, as the name says, crispy outside and moist inside, and it comes with the default green mayonnaise sauce. This time I also ordered the ketchup-based signature sauce.
At burger places I usually order fries, but this day I picked something a little different: fried eggplant.

It comes with the standard green mayonnaise sauce, and I ordered the signature sauce as an extra.

The celery-based green mayonnaise was more appealing than I expected. It went well with the burger, and it paired nicely with the fried eggplant too.

The signature sauce had a salty, ketchup-based flavor. Above all, the fried eggplant itself exceeded my expectations. As the name says, it was crispy outside and moist inside. The mushy texture eggplant usually has was almost absent, so even people who don't normally like eggplant could eat it without a problem.

It was the most unexpectedly satisfying dish of the day.
Final verdict on Daily Fix Jangmi Sangga
Daily Fix Jangmi Sangga was a Jamsil Station burger restaurant where every dish was well made and the atmosphere was satisfying too. As lunchtime approached, seats filled up quickly, and delivery orders kept coming in steadily.
A bite of burger, a sip of beer. I could see why so many people come to Daily Fix.

Next time I definitely plan to try the Hawaiian burger. It's a place I'd like to come back to on a day I'm craving a good handmade burger and a cold beer.
