Gwanghwamun café with plain financier and 3rd-floor view: Lemangdoré

Between City Hall and Gwanghwamun stations sits Lemangdoré, a café decorated with furniture from the world-famous brand Fritz Hansen. Three spacious floors, a beautiful view, serious hand-drip brewing, and a house-made bakery that also supplies Gucci — what more could you want!

Where is Lemangdoré Gwanghwamun, and what are the hours and parking?

Lemangdoré Gwanghwamun sits between Gwanghwamun and City Hall stations, just 3 minutes from City Hall Station Exit 4. Euljiro 1-ga Station is close by too. It opens early, at 8am every day.

The address is 33-1 Mugyo-dong, Jung-gu, Seoul, and it's open 8:00 AM – 9:00 PM. There's no parking on site, but the City Hall public parking lot is right in front, so that's the way to go.

Inside Lemangdoré Gwanghwamun: Fritz Hansen furniture from floor 1 to 3

We visited on a weekday afternoon. Lemangdoré Gwanghwamun is a 3-story building.

This is the 1st floor interior — very spacious and pretty. The restroom is inside.

Lemangdoré is also known for its hand-drip brewing, and every little detail here was gorgeous.

These are the 1st floor seats — good for solo café visits or getting some work done alone.

They also sell coffee beans and branded goods, and there's even a station for tasting coffee. You could really feel this is a place that takes coffee seriously.

2nd floor or 3rd floor: which seats have the prettiest view?

Let's head up to the 2nd floor. It has a more relaxed vibe, good for sitting and chatting.

Now up to the 3rd floor! Every floor had a pretty nice view, but the 3rd floor was the prettiest by far!!!!

The 3rd floor of Lemangdoré, furnished with Fritz Hansen pieces, had especially beautiful interior design and a great atmosphere. It would make a perfect spot for a date around Jongno too.

Ahhh, so pretty right? Definitely a café I want to come back to!!

The signature item is the madeleine set — the madeleines are famous here. The Dubai croissant is also well known!

The ice cream float — an affogato-style drink made with matcha strawberry latte and Sanghamokjang ice cream — is another signature item, along with the fresh coffee of the day. The nice thing about the coffee of the day, which changes flavor daily, is you get to taste a fresh Americano. They even have samples of it ready to try — so thoughtful! Let me show you the actual bakery items.

These are the bakery items — all sorts of bread on offer, plus sandwiches! There's also gift wrapping with a traditional bojagi cloth, and I really love this kind of detail, haha. Near Jongno, this kind of pretty bojagi wrapping seems to be well prepared everywhere, haha.

First up, the latte. This was the first time I've ever seen latte art done this beautifully, haha. So pretty, right?

This was my friend's order — she said the nutty beans and soft milk foam were absolutely delicious. It was nice that you could even choose your beans, haha.

Since the bakery is famous, we couldn't not try it, right? This financier was packed with buttery flavor! It was so good I basically inhaled it in one bite, haha.

Next time I definitely want to try the signature madeleine too. Given that they started in Seorae Village and keep expanding, you could really tell from the financier alone that this is a legit bakery.

This is the white cream latte I ordered — soft latte topped with a generous layer of thick, chewy cream. This café lets you add oat milk! All the lactose-intolerant people, gather round!

You can always tell a mediocre café by the taste of its latte, but here the deep, rich espresso shot blended beautifully with the milk — I really enjoyed drinking it, haha. That strong coffee flavor was outstanding. I can confidently recommend both the coffee and bakery at Lemangdoré!! Being able to add oat milk was also such a plus. Chatting with a friend surrounded by a pretty view and pretty furniture made for such a happy time! I'd recommend it as a date spot too.
